  • Publication number: 20210193381
Abstract: Disclosed is a series self-resonant coil structure for wireless power transfer that includes a top coil element that is configured in a spiral and planar arrangement and a bottom coil element that is configured in a spiral and planar arrangement that is substantially similar to the arrangement corresponding to the top coil element, wherein the top coil element and the bottom coil element are positioned in a stacked arrangement in relation to each other. The coil structure further includes a dielectric layer element that is planarly positioned in between the top coil element and the bottom coil element, wherein the top coil element, the bottom coil element, and the dielectric layer element are aligned to produce series-resonance in the coil structure.

  • Patent number: 11011936
Abstract: A single-stage transmitter for wireless power transfer is provided. The transmitter includes a rectifier stage and an inverter stage sharing a first phase leg. The rectifier stage further includes a rectifying leg including two diodes connected in series, and a boost inductor coupling the first phase leg and the rectifying leg to an input port. The inverter stage further includes a second phase leg. Each phase leg includes two switches connected in series. The first and second phase legs are coupled to an output port. A bus capacitor is coupled across the first phase, second phase, and rectifying legs. A controller is programmed to determine first and second parameters, based on an output power at the output port, to simultaneously control the rectifier stage and the inverter stage to maintain constant bus voltage and achieve high power factor and low total harmonic distortion at the input port.

  • Patent number: 10637293
Abstract: A transmitter for wireless power transfer is provided. The transmitter includes an input port, a first transmission port, a second transmission port, an inverter, and a controller. An input of the inverter is coupled to the input port, and an output of the inverter is coupled in parallel to the first and second transmission ports. The controller is programmed to control the inverter to modulate an output voltage at the output of the inverter such that power from the input port is transmitted at a first frequency through the first transmission port and at a second frequency through the second transmission port.
