  • Patent number: 9240063
Abstract: The present invention relates to digital art software, and more particularly to methods of simulating fluids, brushes and associated media in digital art software applications. According to certain aspects, the invention relates to modeling techniques used to simulate fluids (and gases), which modeling techniques can employ dynamically sized simulation areas. In embodiments, these techniques incorporate modifications made to conventional techniques such as Lattice Bolzmann Modeling (LBM). According to certain other aspects, the invention relates to simulations of media using these techniques for modeling fluids such as Watercolor and “Wet Oil”. According to still further aspects, the invention relates to a “tool” adjuster paradigm for digital art software, among other things.

  • Publication number: 20100185966
Abstract: The presently disclosed technology teaches graphical user interfaces (GUIs) grouped in smart control panels that fade, disappear, move, rotate, and/or resize to reveal a work surface under the smart control panels. In one implementation, a smart control panel disappears until it is recalled by a keystroke. When the smart control panel is recalled, it reappears at a present location of a cursor on the work surface. In another implementation, the smart control panel disappears when the user renders an image in an area occupied by the smart control panel. More specifically, a cursor renders a mark across the work surface. As the mark reaches the smart control panel, the smart control panel disappears while the mark is rendered in the area occupied by the smart control panel. When the mark is no longer being rendered in the area occupied by the smart control panel, the smart control panel reappears.

  • Publication number: 20060045343
Abstract: A drawing assistance system enhances a sketch drawn by a user in an electrical document on a computer system by collecting stroke data from one or more strokes of a sketch as a user draws the sketch. The stroke data includes time-based information and features of each stroke. The strokes are handled based on the time-based information, and analysed based on the strokes handled based on the time-based information. The sketch is enhanced based on results of the analysis.
