  • Patent number: 6691692
Abstract: An adjustable cam for an archery bow. The adjustable cam is located at the end of one of the bow limbs. The other bow limb has an idler cam located at its end. The bowstring has a bowstring end attached to the adjustable cam. The bowstring passes over the idler cam and the second or end stretch end of the bowstring is also attached to the adjustable cam. A harness string has one end attached adjacent the idler cam and the other end attached to the adjustable cam. An intermediate portion of the adjustable cam may be adjusted to set the draw length of the bowstring. A draw stop or fine draw length adjustment is also provided on the adjustable cam.

  • Patent number: 6650669
Abstract: A laser activation system for use with a crossbow having a trigger mechanism mounted on a crossbow stock. An electrical circuit for a laser mounted on the crossbow has a primary switch for opening and closing the electrical circuit. The primary switch is actuated by a safety device which releasably locks the trigger mechanism between a locked position which opens the electrical circuit, and an unlocked position which closes the electrical circuit to produce a laser beam.

  • Patent number: 6520170
Abstract: An adjustment knob assembly for selectably adjusting and securing an arrow deployment parameter of an archery bow. The adjustment knob assembly includes a base block mounted on the archery bow with a base throughbore extending between inner and outer base ends, and an index surface surrounding an outer base aperture leading into the base throughbore. A pivot shaft is rotatably received within the base throughbore and is obstructed from axial displacement in an outward direction. The pivot shaft has one end connected to an adjustment knob and the other end operating to adjust the arrow deployment parameter when rotated by the adjustment knob. Spring-loaded detents of the inner deck engage detent recesses on the index surface as the adjustment knob is rotated to various angular positions. And a preferably screw-type fastener has a threaded shank positioned within a threaded knob throughbore of the adjustment knob, and a knob head connected to the threaded shank which.

  • Patent number: 6425386
Abstract: A bowstring release system for crossbows having a preferably ball-shaped nocking member mounted on a bowstring for engaging a nock portion of an arrow. Upper and lower surfaces of the bowstring release system are positioned near the rear of the crossbow, and move between open and closed positions relative to each other to vary the size of a release passage defined therebetween. In the closed position, the upper and lower catch surfaces are positioned sufficiently near each other to block the nocking member from passing through the release passage. And in the open position, the upper and lower catch surfaces are sufficiently separated to allow passage of the nocking member for propelling the arrow. When the bowstring is cocked, a locking mechanism actuates one or both of the upper and lower catch surfaces to the closed position, and a trigger mechanism releases the locking mechanism and actuates either one or both of the upper and lower catch surfaces to the open position.

  • Patent number: 6244259
Abstract: A bow limb mounting system for adjustably mounting a limb inner end of a bow limb to a riser mounting surface of a bow riser of an archery bow, with the limb inner end pivoting relative to the bow riser about a limb pivot axis. The pivot movement is produced by an adjustable strut assembly which varies an attachment angle between the limb inner end and the riser mounting surface, while restraining lateral movement between the two. The adjustable strut assembly has upper head and neck portions which connect to the limb inner end in a close toleranced manner, and an alignment block portion below the neck portion which is slidably and matingly seated in a cavity located below the mounting surface also in a close toleranced manner. A bolt extends through a central hole formed by the head, neck and alignment block portions and connects to a pivot pin, such that adjusting the bolt changes the distance between the limb inner end and the pivot pin to thereby change the attachment angle.

  • Patent number: 6205990
Abstract: A dry fire prevention safety mechanism for crossbows having a trigger mechanism which releases a bowstring to discharge an arrow. A spring-loaded catch arm is pivotally connected to the crossbow and has a hook at one end and a ramp portion at the opposite end which extends into an arrow seating well. When an arrow is positioned to be discharged, the ramp portion is abutted by the arrow which disengages the hook from the trigger and enables operation of the crossbow.
