    Abstract: A monotube shock absorber which is capable of high compression damping forces while operating at low pressure for reduced friction is disclosed. The monotube shock absorber includes a pressure tube, a piston assembly, a piston rod, a fixed valve assembly and a floating piston. A variety of methods for securing the fixed valve assembly to the pressure tube are disclosed including use of single piece pressure tubes and pressure tube assemblies. In addition, a method for assembling the monotube shock absorber including an oil filling technique is described.

    Abstract: A system and method for establishing a voice over Internet protocol link to a called party's mobile telephony device utilizes push notifications to activate a communications application on the called party's mobile telephony communications device. When a request to establish a voice over Internet protocol link to a mobile device is received by an incoming proxy server of a voice over Internet protocol service provider, the service provider causes a push notification to be sent to the mobile device. The called party can respond to the push notification in a manner that causes a communications application on the mobile device to be activated. Once the push notification has caused the communications application to activate, the communications application sends a special registration request to an outbound proxy server.

Both systems control fluid flow through the respective valve assembly for fluid flow in the same direction. The low speed valving system is independently tunable in order to provide low speed damping to improve both vehicle control and handling. The independent tuning of the low speed valving system allows the optimization of the low speed valving system in relation to the high speed valving system as well as independent tuning of the high speed valving system in relation to the low speed valving system. The independent tuning of the two systems allow the achievement of a smooth transition between the two systems. The two valving systems can be incorporated into a piston assembly for an extension stroke, a base valve assembly for a compression stroke or both.
