This feature is of particular importance for folding tables that are positioned at a standing height.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a four piece symmetrical compression fastener for a mitered joint. The fastener includes two L-brackets, each L-bracket having two flat plates intersecting each other at angles in two dimensions, the intersecting edges of the flat plates forming two right angles. The L-brackets are spaced apart from each other by both a large L-brace and a small L-brace, each brace interconnecting with each flat plate of each L-bracket. Upon the fastener being inserted into two mitered joining pieces, the flat plates of the L-brackets are compressed into curved plates that press against the interior of the joining piece and secure the fastener within the pieces. The two mitered joining pieces cooperate to fully enclose the compression fastener.

The table has a pivoting mechanism on a table frame in the upper region of two lateral table legs. The table can be folded out or folded between a horizontal use position and a storage position. A pivoting movement of the table top is achieved, while combining secure operation and simple handling. The pivoting mechanism includes at least one pair of inter-engaging, mutually complementary tooth portions that are arranged concentrically about the axis of rotation. The tooth portions can be moved apart relative to one another by at least the tooth depth in the direction of the axis of rotation in order to enable the pivoting movement. In each pair, one tooth portion is mounted fixedly in terms of rotation with respect to the table leg and the other tooth portion is mounted fixedly in terms of rotation with respect to the table top.

    Abstract: An office furniture piece combination of a plurality of pieces of office furniture, in particular office desks. A frame with a uniform cross piece has lateral legs which can be connected with each other by a non-free-standing coupling elements using bolts and receivers. A simple, rigid connection between the cross pieces of adjacent office furniture pieces and the coupling element, which can be made and released without tools, is achieved with receivers positioned into the front faces of the cross pieces. The exterior cross section of the coupling elements are essentially adapted to the exterior cross section of the cross pieces and support rotatably seated locking bolts which are oriented towards the receivers of the cross pieces. The coupling elements have a preset, identical dimension in the longitudinal direction of the cross pieces. The locking bolts extend from both front faces of the coupling elements with eccentric locking heads or clamping bolts.

The support arms comprise two support arm halves which enclose each one of two rails of the cross brace by grooves such that the support arm is captively maintained, but can be adjusted at a preset pivot angle. A definite lockable setting of the support arms in the set pivot position is obtained in a simple manner where at least one support arm half of each support arm is provided with a denticulation in the area of the groove, the segment element has a counter-denticulation which is in engagement with the denticulation of the support arm half, and a pre-stressed resilient element, in a loosened state of a bolt connection holding said support arm halves together, pulls the support arm halves together and adjustably maintains a functional connection of the denticulation and the counter-denticulation by a limited resilience.
