The method includes scanning for a user terminal configured to open a door of the motor vehicle, and determining a trajectory of the user terminal when a distance between the user terminal and the motor vehicle is less than a minimum distance. The method further includes comparing the determined trajectory with at least one predefined trajectory, and opening the door of the motor vehicle when the determined trajectory matches a trajectory of the at least one predefined trajectory.
