Publication number: 20190339216Abstract: A probe for collecting optically stimulated electron emission to inspect chemical reactions of a surface includes a light source to emit light on the surface, a collector, and a controller. The light source emits light on the surface. The collector is configured to detect photoelectrons emitted from the surface in response to the light from the light source impinging on the surface. The collector is further configured to provide a photocurrent based on the detected photoelectrons. The controller includes at least one processor and is operably coupled to the light source and the collector. The controller is configured to cause the light source to emit light on the surface, receive the photocurrent from the collector, and determine at least one chemical reaction of the surface based on the received photocurrent.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2019Publication date: November 7, 2019Applicant: United States of America as Represented by the Administrator of NASAInventors: William T. Patent number: 10462391Abstract: An inspection system and methods in which analog image data values (charges) captured by an image sensor are binned (combined) before or while being transmitted as output signals on the image sensor's output sensing nodes (floating diffusions), and in which an ADC is controlled to sequentially generate multiple corresponding digital image data values between each reset of the output sensing nodes. According to an output binning method, the image sensor is driven to sequentially transfer multiple charges onto the output sensing nodes between each reset, and the ADC is controlled to convert the incrementally increasing output signal after each charge is transferred onto the output sensing node. According to a multi-sampling method, multiple charges are vertically or horizontally binned (summed/combined) before being transferred onto the output sensing node, and the ADC samples each corresponding output signal multiple times. The output binning and multi-sampling methods may be combined.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2016Date of Patent: October 29, 2019Assignee: KLA-Tencor CorporationInventors: Yung-Ho Alex Chuang, David L. Patent number: 10374145Abstract: A method for forming a memory device that includes providing a free layer of an alloy of cobalt (Co), iron (Fe) and boron (B) overlying a reference layer; and forming metal layer comprising a boron (B) sink composition atop the free layer. Boron (B) may be diffused from the free layer to the metal layer comprising the boron sink composition. At least a portion of the metal layer including the boron (B) sink composition is removed. A metal oxide is formed atop the free layer. The free layer may be a crystalline cobalt and iron alloy. An interface between the metal oxide and free layer can provide perpendicular magnetic anisotropy character.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2015Date of Patent: August 6, 2019Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Stephen L. Publication number: 20190164593Abstract: A memory device includes a data write circuitry. The data write circuitry is configured to capture a first write command received via an external input/output (I/O) interface. The data write circuitry is further configured to generate a first internal write start (InternalWrStart) in a data strobe (DQS) domain after capture of the first write command. The data write circuitry is additionally configured to write a first one or more data bits into at least one memory bank based on the first InternalWrStart, wherein the first InternalWrStart is generated internally in the memory device.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2017Publication date: May 30, 2019Inventors: Daniel B. Patent number: 8095287Abstract: Methods and systems are described to automatically lock and unlock a front axle disconnect mechanism in an all-wheel drive (AWD) system responsive to driving conditions to reduce parasitic losses and increase fuel efficiency. A control algorithm is described which automatically determines whether the front axle disconnect mechanism should lock or unlock responsive to various sensor readings throughout the vehicle. The sensor readings relate to the driving conditions. Advantageously, the present disclosure automatically decides the best mode for optimum fuel economy while safely responding to driving conditions, and therefore removes the requirement for a driver to select the operating mode.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2007Date of Patent: January 10, 2012Assignee: Chrysler Group LLCInventors: Brian E. Patent number: 5391420Abstract: Label-like, hermetically-sealed perfume pouch samplers with artwork on their top surface and a pressure sensitive adhesive bottom surface. The adhesive bottom surface may be employed to attach the pouch labels to pages of a magazine or other mailer, providing an efficient method of mass distribution of perfume samples. The fragrance is stored in a perfume-releasing article such as an ultraviolet radiation-cured perfume-doped polymer, or a fragrance-laden polymer gel of modified cellulosic, ethyl alcohol, fragrance oil, an antioxidant, and water, surrounded by two perfume impervious sealed barrier layers. There is disclosed a method of manufacturing the perfume pouch labels on a support web that can be wound onto rolls from which the pouch labels may be readily released and applied rapidly and precisely to advertising pages.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1993Date of Patent: February 21, 1995Assignee: Thermedics Inc.Inventors: Matthew W.
