    Abstract: Texting while walking is a behavior oftenly seen with the advent of extensive mobile networks and the popularity of smart phones. It is also related to the recent general expectation of immediate notification and response. Despite accidents are frequent with this activity, as the users cannot see their forward paths, there has not been any effective aid to prevent such occurrences. The present invention provides new features and designs enabling the cameras in smart mobile communication devices to continuously and automatically provide views of the forward paths on the screens, while maintaining the compactness of smart phones, for users who are texting while walking to safely navigate.

    Abstract: The present invention is a method, and embodiments of such method, that permit a ‘smart phone” user, during the typical “walking while texting” activity, namely, of walking while holding the device approximately horizontally and head bent forward with eyes looking down on the screen, to see objects ahead in the direction of travel, by presenting on the screen images captured by an internal moveable camera that is continuously and automatically adjusted to point horizontally forward. The goal is to assist said user in avoiding obstacles and danger in the forward path.
