  • Patent number: 7784195
Abstract: Contours of a surface of a bearing which extends about an axis are displayed on a grid. To visualize the contours, points on the surface are measured at a plurality of angular positions to determine the corresponding measured values. The measured values at each angular position are normalized to determine a normalized measurement datum corresponding to each angular position. The normalized measurement datum is subtracted from each of the measured values to determine a plurality of deviations of the corresponding points. Shades are assigned that correspond to a range of possible deviations. Each of the deviations are displayed as a data segment on a grid that represents the shape of the surface of the bearing. Each data segment is shaded on the grid to the corresponding shade to provide a topographical representation of the contours of the surface of the bearing.

  • Publication number: 20080060594
Abstract: An engine camshaft assembly includes a hollow tubular shaft mounting a plurality of separate cam sets, each including multiple camps. Each cam includes an outer cam surface bounded by opposite parallel sides and including an axial opening extending through said sides. Each cam set includes at least two associated cams positioned in side-by-side relation with their openings axially aligned. A shoulder protruding from a side of one of the cam engages an adjacent side of another associated cam, thus maintaining the sides of the associated cams in fixed parallel relation. The tubular shaft extends through the cam openings and supports the cam sets on a common rotational axis. During assembly, the shaft is expanded into engagement with the openings so that the cam sets are retained in fixed axial and angular relation on the shaft.

  • Patent number: 6644695
Abstract: A novel method of advertising in appropriate bound or unbound publications wherein the pages of the publication are folded in half and may be bound along one edge by either saddle-stitching or perfect-binding the pages at the center of the publication together, wherein a carrier member formed of a folded member that is appropriately bound into the publication and has at least one adhesive strip or a plurality of adhesive spots positioned adjacent one edge for mounting a substantially thinner mouse pad thereon for ease of removal and subsequent use. The mouse pad is formed of a thin generally transparent plastic material and carries advertising printed on the undersurface of the pad, which advertising is viewed through the transparent pad; the mouse pad acting to insure that the publication will flip open at the position of the pad so that the viewer or reader will see the advertising early in the inspection of the publication.

  • Patent number: 5610915
Abstract: In a telecommunications network, to provide both statistical reporting functions and reporting on a call by call detail basis, a Traffic View Server (TVS) system is incorporated with a MCI Traffic Statistics (MTS) system. The TVS is responsive to instructions provided by subscribers so that reports may be provided on a given time period, at a given frequency and in a particular format, as instructed by the subscribers. Standard reports are delivered via E-Mail, fax or hard copy. A subscriber may obtain a static view of the traffic for a special service call number by communicating with the TVS. Moreover, a remote subscriber may download from the TVS a data file which contains raw call details and statistics that he can import to his own reports. Different types of call detail reports may be generated from the TVS.

  • Patent number: 5551025
Abstract: In a traffic view server (TVS) system in which the traffic through a telecommunications network is monitored, a database system is provided to enable high processing rate for the TVS, both for inserting the data into the system and for extracting the stored data out for reporting purposes. The database system is structured in three pieces, a first one handling statistics data from records that are collected by a traffic statistics system (MTS), a second one handling enhanced call detail records (ECDR) screened from the MTS, and a last one handling common material references. The statistics data are first stored in a fast response electronic storage medium, after they have been segregated into different basic types of statistics data. The thus segregated basic types of statistics data are then combined and forwarded for long term storage in a magnetic storage medium at a brief period of time after a predetermined time interval.
