  • Patent number: 5628866
Abstract: A hand held masking machine for applying tape along both edges of a sheet of masking material which has relatively movable frame portions that engage and journal opposite ends of a roll of masking material to accurately position tape being applied to its edges; frame portions adapted to have end portions of tape on the machine adhered thereto so that the masking machine can adhere tape along both or only a desired one of the masking material edges; an adjustable cutting blade assembly that accommodates applying tapes of different widths to the masking material, and specially longitudinally folded rolls of masking material so that the taped masking material may be wider that the roll from which the masking material is dispensed.

  • Patent number: 4783016
Abstract: A roll of tape or paper is releaseably retained upon a roll holder by a flexible retention member, carried by the holder and normally outwardly biased to engage the core of the roll. A pivotally connected arm is biased to urge a bearing element at the free end thereof against the outer surface of the paper roll to check uncoiling of the paper sheet. The bearing element is automatically lifted and positioned in reponse to movement of the roll against a camming surface during attachment of the roll to the roll holder. A detachably securable auxiliary roll holder applies tape along the normally free edge of the paper sheet. Also disclosed is an auxiliary tape dispenser carried by the frame of a portable masking machine.

  • Patent number: 4695006
Abstract: A plurality of blades are supported for initially severing a continuous tubular core into a plurality of specialty cores and subsequently slitting a continuous sheet of paper as it is drawn from a bulk roll and wound about the specialty cores. Each blade is replaceably carried by an assembly which is selectively positionable along a bar to provide specialty rolls of coiled paper in predetermined widths. A mandrel upon which the core is carried is provided with a plurality of spaced annular grooves for receiving the cutting edge of each blade.

  • Patent number: 4553710
Abstract: A pair of support arms extend from a base adapted to be attached to a selected surface. The arms are spaced apart to receive a roll of coiled sheet material, such as toilet tissue or paper towels therebetween. A pair of opposed fingers, carried by the support arms rotatably support the roll. The fingers, which are biased to enter the hollow core of the roll are deflectively movable in separable directions in response to urging of the roll to receive the roll therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4326647
Abstract: A housing carries an anvil having an upper surface for supporting the deformable body of a collapsible tube. The header wall of the tube bears against the forward end wall of the housing which is spaced from the forward end of the anvil. An elongate presser element having a rearward end pivotally connected to the housing includes a surface which is arcuately movable relative the surface of the anvil. The presser element is moved toward the anvil to squeeze fluent material from the tube in response to pressure exerted upon an elongate actuating element bearing upon the presser element and having a pivotally connected end proximate the forward end of the housing. An article storage compartment located below the anvil is accessible through a door carried at the rear of the housing.
