Abstract: An ultrasound system for visualizing the flow of a liquid within an object is provided. The ultrasound system includes an ultrasound probe, a generating unit, and a display processing unit. The ultrasound probe is operative to obtain ultrasound data from the object. The generating unit is operatively connected with the ultrasound probe and configured to render one or more images based at least in part on the ultrasound data. Each image includes a flow artifact that depicts the flow of the liquid. The display processing unit is operatively connected with the generating unit and configured to display the one or more images rendered by the generating unit. The generating unit modulates a property of the flow artifact based at least in part on a flow characteristic of the liquid.
