  • Publication number: 20130239925
Abstract: A piston for a compression ignition internal combustion engine includes a piston body having a combustion face defining a combustion bowl, and the combustion face including a compound bowl surface and a compound rim surface. The combustion face is profiled to balance a combustion efficiency property of the piston with emissions properties of the piston. A ratio of a diameter of the combustion bowl to a diameter of the cylinder bowl bore is from 0.68 to 0.74. Other dimensional and proportional features of the piston support low smoke and NOx production during operation.

  • Patent number: 8402997
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a valve with a pivoting lever. This lever pivots around a pivot point and can move between at least three stable positions. In the rest position, this lever is fixed and solidly connected to the body of the valve, and there is zero fluid flow in the internal fluid passage. In the intermediary released position, the axis of the lever is disposed at a positive, non-zero angle in relation to the axis of the lever in the rest position, the lever being now disconnected from the body, but the fluid flow remains zero. In the active position, the axis of the lever is disposed at a positive non-zero angle in relation to the axis of the lever in the intermediary released position, this lever being disconnected from the body, and with fluid now flowing thorough the internal fluid passage at a non-zero rate.

  • Patent number: 8061682
Abstract: A valve for controlling the flow of a pressurized fluid, in particular a medical or industrial gas, a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a internal fluid passage that connects them. A valve for controlling the fluid flow can prevent the circulation of a fluid in this passage, and an actuator utilizing a pivoting lever can be manually actuated by an operator. This lever pivots around a pivot point and can move between at least three stable, angularly staggered positions including a rest position where there is zero fluid flow in the internal fluid passage a intermediary released position where the fluid flow remains zero and an active position with fluid flowing thorough the internal fluid passage at a non-zero rate.

  • Patent number: 8056580
Abstract: A valve to control the flow of pressurized fluids, such as medical or industrial gases, consists of a body with an internal fluid distribution circuit, comprising a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a internal fluid passage connecting them. Fluid flow can be controlled by an operator manually actuating a lever. This lever can move between at least three stable positions that are angularly staggered in relation to each other. In the rest position, the lever is fixed and solidly connected to the body of the valve, and there is zero fluid flow in the internal fluid passage. In the intermediary released position, the lever is disconnected from the body, but the fluid flow remains zero. In the active position, the lever is disconnected from the body, and fluid flows thorough the internal fluid passage at a non-zero rate. Application also to gas cylinders equipped with such valves.

  • Publication number: 20100155405
Abstract: A valve is provided to control the flow of a pressurized fluid, in particular a medical or industrial gas. The inventive valve consists of a body with an internal fluid distribution circuit, within this internal fluid distribution circuit are a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a internal fluid passage that connects them. There is a means for controlling the fluid flow that can prevent the circulation of a fluid in this passage, and a handling means utilizing a pivoting lever that can be manually actuated by an operator. This lever pivots around a pivot point and can move between at least three stable positions that are angularly staggered in relation to each other. In the rest position, this lever is fixed and solidly connected to the body of the valve, and there is zero fluid flow in the internal fluid passage.

  • Publication number: 20070018803
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining the condition of a tire are described. A system for determining a condition of a tire includes having at least one tire measurement device to measure a tire characteristic as a tire passes through the tire measurement system and a processor for receiving and analyzing the tire characteristic to determine the condition of the tire. The system may also include a display device for displaying the condition of the tire to a user. A method for determining a condition of a tire includes determining the condition of the tire, comparing the condition of the tire to an acceptable standard, and communicating the condition of the tire. The method can include identifying the tire using a tire identification device.

  • Patent number: 7011065
Abstract: The invention relates to an air intake for an engine (19) of a motor vehicle. In particular, the present invention concerns a detachable connection between an air collector module (10) and an intake duct module (11) of the air intake. The invention also concerns a method for installing the air intake to the engine (19) of the motor vehicle. A preferred embodiment of the air intake comprises a detachable connection comprising at least one releasable connection arrangement (17) and at least one interlock arrangement (18). The at least one releasable connection arrangement (17) comprises a releasable connector (25) inserted through the air collector module (10) and arranged to secure the air collector module (10) to the intake duct module (11). The at least one interlock arrangement (18) comprises a bracket (31) mounted on one of the air collector module (10) and the intake duct module (11), and an opposing piece (32) mounted on the other of the air collector module (10) and the intake duct module (11).

  • Publication number: 20040231729
Abstract: The invention relates to a cock that is used to control the flow of a pressurised fluid, in particular a medical or industrial gas. The inventive cock consists of: a body (1) with an internal fluid distribution circuit (3, 31, 32) comprising an internal fluid passage which fluidically connects a fluid inlet (31) with a fluid outlet (32); means for controlling the fluid flow (4) that can be used to enable or prevent the circulation of fluid in said passage (3); and handling means which are provided with a pivoting lever that is actuated manually by an operator and which co-operate, directly or indirectly, with the fluid flow control means (4). The pin lever (2) (YY) pivots around a pivot point (XX) and can move between at least three stable positions which are angularly staggered in relation to each other. In the rest position, said lever (2) is fixed and solidly connected to the body (1) of the cock and there is zero fluid flow in the internal passage.
