The first and second devices verify the public key certificate of the other device, respectively, and if the verification is successful, generate a ciphertext by encrypting its own secret with the public key of the other device, and send the ciphertext to the other device, respectively. The first and second devices decrypt the received ciphertext using its own private key and retrieve the secret of the other device.
