  • Patent number: 6390771
Abstract: A stator suitable for high-pressure compressors in gas turbine engines includes two points of ventilation at different temperatures. It is recommended that the upstream section of the stator be constructed with a casing and a shroud, both of which are unbroken around a circumference and made of a material with a low degree of thermal expansion. Downstream the shroud is, however, constructed using angular sectors in a material with a higher degree of thermal expansion.

  • Patent number: 4173992
Abstract: Wheel rims of moldable material for a tire having roundings at least in part connecting the base, bead seat and flange elements of the rim with each other, each of the roundings having a concave face and a convex face, are improved and strengthened against tension strains by at least the rounding of the greatest curvature being provided with a tension-resistant reinforcement embedded in said rounding in the vicinity of the concave face of said rounding, the reinforcement comprising reinforcing elements arranged approximately in radial planes of the rim.

  • Patent number: 4146274
Abstract: Wheel rims of moldable material for a tire having a base with a bead seat on each side extended by a flange are improved and strengthened against longitudinal tension stresses by having only in the base a tension-resistant embedded reinforcement solely formed by reinforcing elements arranged parallel to the circumferential direction of the rim.

  • Patent number: 4071724
Abstract: A tire pressure variation detector is fixed in the wall of the wheel rim and is adapted to signal whether the inner tube of the tire is inflated to the normal air pressure and also to signal whether the space outside the inner tube contains air under pressure which has escaped from the inner tube.

  • Patent number: 4067375
Abstract: The fatigue strength of a composite bead ring for pneumatic tires formed of at least two unitary stranded bead rings in tangential contact with each other is increased by having oppositely directed stranding or twisting of the peripheral layers of the wires of said two unitary stranded bead rings.

  • Patent number: 4026318
Abstract: A valve for giant tires comprises a tubular element and a valve member slidable within the tubular element for opening and closing the valve. The tubular element comprises a first section for connection to the valve stem of a tire, a second section forming an extension of the first section, and a third section forming an extension of the second section. The tubular element is formed with a bore which extends through the three sections and which widens in the direction from the third section to the second section and thereby forms a valve seat. The valve member comprises a rod extending longitudinally of the bore, a valve-sealing member connected to the rod for cooperation with the valve seat, a first guide member connected to the rod and being slidable within the widened bore of the second section, and a second guide member connected to the rod and being slidable within the bore of the third section.

  • Patent number: 4006326
Abstract: An alarm device signals a substantial drop in the inflation pressure of the tires on the wheels of an automotive vehicle. The device comprises a portion of an electric circuit located at the free end of a flexible rod which is covered with a layer of material of low resistance subject to abrasion. The covering material is removed by abrasion as the vehicle travels over the road if tire pressure is low. The electric circuit, consisting of two wire-like elements, may be either normally closed or normally open. In the latter instance, the separated wires are fused together. In both embodiments, this change in the condition of the circuit causes an alarm to be set off.

  • Patent number: 3949800
Abstract: A pneumatic tire comprises a bead, a package bead ring in the bead, and a carcass reinforcement turned around the bead ring. The bead ring comprises at least one wire having a cross section of a quadrilateral with two parallel opposite faces. The wire or wires form multiple turns around the tire through the bead that are contiguous in directions extending both radially and axially of the tire.
