Abstract: Techniques for obtaining and utilizing a sample translation of a work and evaluating a translator are described herein. The techniques may include obtaining a translation a portion of a work from a translator of a specified level of experience. The translation may be sent to a reader and feedback may be received from the reader regarding the translation. A determination may be made as to whether to proceed with obtaining a complete translation of the work based on the feedback. In some instances, the translator may be evaluated based on the feedback.

Abstract: Communications from digital content consumers may be entered on reader devices as social media posts. Rather than specifying a particular recipient, a consumer may enter a reserved keyword, such as @author, as the recipient. Upon submission, this keyword is automatically replaced with the recipient identifier, such as with the user identifier of the actual author of the currently rendered content item.

In some embodiments products having a high potential for increased sales through republishing are identified based on relationships with products having consistent sales. In some embodiments products having a high potential for increased sales through republishing are identified based on sales in one language and availability of rights in another language. In one aspect, translations are facilitated via a translations marketplace.

Abstract: This disclosure describes a platform for better connecting authors and retailers that offer works of the authors for acquisition by a community of users. This platform includes multiple tools that allow the authors to provide content to the community of users through the retailer or through another entity. In addition, this platform provides tools that authors may utilize for marketing their works, for tracking acquisition (e.g., sales) of their works, for connecting with other authors, or for a multitude of other purposes.
