  • Publication number: 20240136046
Abstract: In one or more implementations, a method and system are disclosed in which at least one processor receives information associated with an upcoming arthroplasty and demographic factors of a patient in the upcoming arthroplasty. The processor(s) access i) procedure information representing arthroplasty previously performed for each of a plurality of patients and ii) implant information representing types and sizes of implants from a plurality of manufacturers. Further, the processor(s) determine respective unadjusted probabilities of each of a plurality of implant size options within a range of implant sizes, based on i) of at least one statistical model, ii) the accessed procedure information and the implant information, and iii) the demographic factors of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20050242578
Abstract: Hose coupling devices that securely connect an end of a hose to a fitting member using a retention mechanism operated by multi-threaded engagement of the fitting member with a collar member. The multi-threaded engagement also may operate a hose advancement mechanism. The advancement mechanism axially advances a hose during multi-threaded engagement so that the hose may be more effectively gripped by the retention mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5878307
Abstract: A toner cartridge for supplying toner to a replenishment apparatus of an electrophotographic imaging device has an elongated cylindrical container filled with toner. The container has a longitudinal axis, an open end and a closed end. An end cap is adapted and arranged to close the open end and to accommodate relative rotational motion between the container and the end cap. The end cap has a flange portion defining an open end terminating in an end portion having an edge. An elastomeric seal is provided to effect a positive, relatively low-friction toner seal between a relatively rotating container and the end cap. The seal in an exemplary embodiment comprises an elastomeric band, which is sized properly to affix onto the outside diameter of the cap end portion, with a portion of the seal extending beyond the cap end portion.

  • Patent number: 4303836
Abstract: A silencer adapted to suppress the audio output of a radio or television set during commercial breaks in a program. The silencer which requires no wiring changes in the set includes a probe insertable in the existing earphone jack. The probe is constituted by a truncated tubular plug whose length falls short of the flexible switch arm of the jack that normally engages a contact arm to connect the audio signal line to the loudspeaker, the plug having a retractable plunger therein. When the plug is advanced by a local actuator, it engages the switch arm of the jack to flex it away from the contact arm to cut off loudspeaker sound, the sound being restored when the plunger is retracted. The local actuator of the plug is coupled to a remote actuator which when manually-activated acts selectively through the local actuator to advance or retract the plunger to cut off sound at the outset of a commercial break and to restore it at the conclusion thereof.
