  • Patent number: 7585221
Abstract: A gaming device including a plurality of reels having a plurality of symbols. The symbols include at least one bonus payline symbol. In a game, the gaming device or player spins the reels to indicate symbols on the reels. After the reel stops spinning, the gaming device evaluates the symbols indicated on the paylines associated with the reels to determine if any winning symbol combinations are indicated on the paylines. The gaming device provides an award associated with any winning symbol combinations indicated on the paylines. The gaming device then forms at least one bonus payline with any bonus payline symbols indicated on the reels and evaluates the symbols indicated on the bonus payline to determine if the bonus payline indicates any winning symbol combinations. A bonus award associated with any winning symbol combinations is provided to the player.

  • Patent number: 6935947
Abstract: A slot machine provides awards based upon matching two or more symbols drawn from the symbol matrix during one or more spins (“Pair'em Up”). In one embodiment: The game starts with an empty Pair'em Up window. At the end of every spin, the symbol appearing in symbol position 3/2 is duplicated into an empty section of the Pair'em Up window. For each pair of matching symbols made during a Pair'em Up game, the player receives an escalating award based upon the Pair'em Up pay table. If the Pair'em Up window fills with 5 unmatched symbols, the game ends.
