  • Publication number: 20110118666
Abstract: The window material is made of two layers of material that have different elongation properties. The layers are bonded together to produce a multi-layer laminate that has sufficient optical clarity to easily read or scan the printed matter on the I.V. bag, has sufficient flexibility to provide maximum contact with the I.V. bag, but has little or no stretch to provide uniform pressure on the I.V. bag at typical utilization pressures. The preferred embodiment is a 10 mil, matte finished, high Durometer polyurethane film laminated to a 92 gauge (0.00092?) polyester film.

  • Patent number: 5669902
Abstract: The relatively loose fiting external portion of the garment has a waistband. An internal shell is adapted to extend between the legs of the wearer from the front portion of the waistband to the rear portion of the waistband. The shell forms a snug fitting support for an absorbent pad which retains the pad in a position closely adjacent the body. The shell is preferably made of mesh-like elastic material. A liquid impermeable pouch may be attached to the shell to receive the pad in a removeable fashion.

  • Patent number: 4820289
Abstract: A male external catheter comprising a condom-like sheath having at least one of its surfaces flocked with a fabric is disclosed. The flocked catheter provides greater comfort, absorbs moisture, and is easier to apply than prior art sheaths.

  • Patent number: 4589877
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a male incontinence shield for use with a user's undergarment including partially overlapping inner and outer moisture absorbent pad portions coupled together at opposite ends whereby a penile opening is formed to allow normal urination for the lightly incontinent male. Each pad portion comprises an absorbent core with a first relatively thick absorbent portion and a layer of super absorbent material which gels immobilizing the absorbed liquid. A cover encloses the core comprising a moisture permeable body side section and a moisture impermeable garment side section. In one embodiment, for the inner pad portion, the moisture permeable section extends around one side of the pad to form a portion of the garment side section in the region of overlap. Adhesive means attached to the garment side of the shield are provided for securing the shield to the undergarment.

  • Patent number: 4458468
Abstract: A method for packaging and shaping sanitary napkins (10) in a container (44) is described. The method comprises advancing a succession of pre-moistened, embossed sanitary napkins (10) along a predetermined path (30), deflecting the ends of the napkins (10) by means of deflector guides (32) to impart a non-planar shape to the napkins (10), introducing the napkins (10) into a container (44) which provides packaging therefor, and reducing the moisture content in the napkins (10). After the moisture content is sufficiently reduced, e.g., as by evaporation during commercial storage or shipment, the napkins (10) retain their non-planar, curved shape after removal from the container (44) for individual use.
