  • Patent number: 11974846
Abstract: A biological fluid sampling transfer device adapted to receive a multi-component blood sample is disclosed. After collecting the blood sample, the biological fluid sampling transfer device is able to separate a plasma portion from a cellular portion. After separation, the biological fluid sampling transfer device is able to transfer the plasma portion of the blood sample to a point-of-care testing device. The biological fluid sampling transfer device also provides a closed sampling and transfer system that reduces the exposure of a blood sample and provides fast mixing of a blood sample with a sample stabilizer. The biological fluid sampling transfer device is engageable with a blood testing device for closed transfer of a portion of the plasma portion from the biological fluid sampling transfer device to the blood testing device. The blood testing device is adapted to receive the plasma portion to analyze the blood sample and obtain test results.

  • Patent number: 7308911
Abstract: A hose is provided having at least one layer defining a tubular body with a length and an electrically conductive lead joined to the tubular body and extending along the length of the tubular body. The electrically conductive lead is adapted to receive an electrical signal and create an electromagnetic field that can be remotely detected to determine a location of the hose. A method of determining the location of a hose is also contemplated.

  • Publication number: 20040154676
Abstract: A hose comprising an inner tube of a synthetic resin, a non-reinforcing, abrasion-resistant layer of monofilament strands overlying the inner tube and, a cover layer overlying the inner tube and encapsulating the abrasion-resistant layer, and, optionally, a reinforcing layer between the inner tube and the abrasion-resistant layer of monofilament strands. The monofilament strands can be arranged in a regular pattern, for example, in a loosely-woven net of the monofilament strands and can have a diameter greater or less than the spacing between the monofilament strands, with the spacing between the monofilament strands ranging from 50-200% of the diameter of the monofilament strands.
