    Abstract: In some embodiments, a bodysuit includes an outer shell with front and rear panel and a first inner lining with front and rear panels. Each of the front and rear panels of the first inner lining extends from above a waistline of the bodysuit to a seam at a respective side of a crotch region. The bodysuit may include a second inner lining attached to the front and rear panels of the first inner lining at first and second seams, the first and second seams located at first and second sides of the crotch region. The bodysuit also may include a third inner lining positioned on top of and attached to the second inner lining. Attachment of the first inner lining to the second inner lining and the second inner lining to the third inner lining may be accomplished via inner seams not visible on an exterior of the bodysuit.

A back rise seam is positioned on a posterior side of the article of clothing and extends between the waistband and the curved portion of the gusset. The position and size of the waistband and the gusset allows for a short length for the back rise seam and provides an upward lift to the article of clothing to position the article of clothing properly in relation to a body of the wearer.

The cushioning region further includes a cushioning material disposed between and bonded to the continuous upper layer and the continuous lower layer. A groove may be defined in the upper surface of the cushioning region, with a thickness less than the thickness of the cushioning region and greater than the thickness of the first channel.
