  • Patent number: 9574573
Abstract: In one aspect, a method for manufacturing a part for a centrifugal slurry pump is provided, comprising: forming a skeleton of the part having an outer dimension smaller than the part; placing the skeleton of the part in a metal enclosure having an interior dimension larger than the outer dimension of the skeleton of the part and thereby forming a space; adding a metal matrix composite powder into the metal enclosure to fill the space; and subjecting the metal enclosure to hot isostatic pressing, thereby allowing bonding of the metal matrix composite to the skeleton of the part to form the part.

  • Publication number: 20170043376
Abstract: A planar screen cloth for use in a screening device for screening out oversize objects in a material flowing in a direction includes a metal plate substructure having a perimeter and a plurality of longitudinal ligaments and transverse ligaments, forming a grid. A wear-resistant layer is applied to the entire screen cloth. Each transverse ligament comprises a leading edge and a trailing edge; and is angled such that the leading edge is disposed below the trailing edge. The transverse element thus is angled to face the direction of material flow.

  • Publication number: 20150377246
Abstract: A improved impeller for use in a centrifugal slurry pump is provided, comprising: a top shroud; a bottom shroud; and a middle portion therebetween, said middle portion having at least one substantially vertical wall defining a slurry flow channel, wherein the top shroud, bottom shroud and middle portion are configured as one piece to together define a first unitary body; at least one vane nose positioned at a leading edge of the at least one substantially vertical wall; and, optionally, a retaining ring mounted over the top shroud to secure the vane nose within the body.

  • Patent number: 8919567
Abstract: An impact screen cloth for use in a screening device for screening out oversize objects in a material flowing in a direction is provided, comprising a metal plate having a perimeter and comprising a plurality of openings therethrough and forming a grid having longitudinal ligaments substantially parallel to the direction of the material flow and transverse ligaments substantially perpendicular to the direction of the material flow; and a number of longitudinal wear bars positioned on an equal number of longitudinal ligaments to cover a substantial portion of the number of longitudinal ligaments without substantially interfering with the openings.

  • Publication number: 20070212235
Abstract: A pump station comprising includes a motor and pump arrangement, a tank for holding a liquid; and a frame for supporting the tank generally above the motor and pump arrangement. The motor and pump arrangement includes a motor having a drive shaft rotatable about a first longitudinal axis and a pump having a drive shaft rotatable about a second longitudinal axis oriented parallel to the first longitudinal axis. A drive mechanism interconnects the drive shaft of the motor and the drive shaft of the pump. A mounting assembly is provided and includes a lower portion mounted to a portion of one of the motor and the pump; and an upper portion to which the other of the motor and the pump is mounted. The lower portion and the upper portion are configured and selectively movable in such a manner that the drive shaft of the motor and the drive shaft of the pump, during translation movement relative to each other, are constrained from rotational movement relative to each other.

  • Publication number: 20070151054
Abstract: A vehicle washing apparatus includes a brush mounted to a drive shaft, a position locator for positioning the brush relative to a vehicle to be washed and a motor for rotating the drive shaft. A controller positions the brush proximate the vehicle for washing. A load sensor, for sensing the load on the drive shaft, is connected to the controller so that the controller may react to the sensed load exceeding a threshold by controlling a retraction of the brush from the vehicle. Additionally, parameters related to the operation of the brush may be determined based on information related to the size of the vehicle to be washed, where the size information is obtained by sensors.
