  • Patent number: 9212761
Abstract: A security device is configured to limit access and prevent removal of a backflow preventer connected to a fire hydrant. The security device includes an upper enclosure rotationally and detachably coupled to a lower enclosure. The upper enclosure has an upper enclosure left end and the lower enclosure comprises a lower enclosure left end each being configured to accommodate a portion of the fire hydrant. An upper access door is attached to the upper enclosure and permits and restricts access to the backflow preventer. A side door is attached to the lower enclosure and permits and restricts access to the backflow preventer to install a hose to the backflow preventer. A plurality of height adjustment legs are attached to the lower enclosure to adjust a height of the lower enclosure from ground and to carry weight of the security device which avoids plastic deformation of the backflow preventer.

  • Patent number: 7249823
Abstract: A fluid ejection device, a method and an operation method thereof are disclosed. The fluid ejection device includes a substrate, a beam and an activation pad. The substrate has an orifice, and the beam includes a fixed portion and a cantilever portion and is disposed over the substrate, wherein the cantilever portion is disposed over the orifice. Furthermore, the activation pad is disposed between the cantilever portion of the beam and the substrate. Because the fluid ejection device of the present invention is fabricated by using micro-electromechanical technology, and therefore it possible to obtain a fluid ejection device capable of ejecting the fluid from the orifice at a high-speed and also the quantity fluid ejected can be very small.

  • Patent number: 7201638
Abstract: A centrifugal processor is disclosed with includes an outer frame having an inner surface and an axis. At least one inner vessel positioned within the outer frame and is adapted to receive an object to be processed. A drive system rotate the inner vessel with respect to the outer frame and along the inner surface of the outer frame. The drive system includes a central shaft engaged with the vessel for rotating the vessel about the axis. An environmental control system is included which channels a secondary medium to or from the vessel to assist in the processing of the object. The environmental control system includes a manifold formed in at least a portion of the central shaft and adapted to channel the secondary medium. At least one port is formed in the central shaft and connected to the manifold. A conduit connects the port and the inner vessel for channeling the secondary medium between the manifold and the interior of the vessel.

  • Publication number: 20040139043
Abstract: A method and apparatus for attribute relevant access control policies is provided. According to one embodiment, a determination is made as to whether to modify a query based on which attributes of a database object are referenced in the query. Further, if the query references one or more attributes of the database object that are restricted, the query may be modified based on attribute restriction metadata. According to another embodiment, users are restricted from accessing data from the restricted attributes by masking the data before returning it to the users. According to yet another embodiment, certain data from restricted attributes may be masked before returning it to users while other data from restricted attributes may be returned without modification.
