  • Patent number: 12571998
Abstract: An ultra-wide angle imaging apparatus is provided, comprising a first optics having a first optical axis, a second optics having a second optical axis, and a prism placed at an intersection of the first and second optical axis. The prism is configured to reflect light from the first optics to the second optics and the second optics is configured to transmit light from the prism to an image surface. The first optics has a negative optical power, the second optics has a positive optical power, and the prism has an entrance surface for receiving light from the first optics and a reflective inner surface for reflecting light to the second optics. The entrance surface of the prism comprises a paraxial region that is concave.

  • Publication number: 20240402305
Abstract: A Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) sensor for sensing one or more objects including a transmitter configured to emit laser radiation along an axis of the LiDAR sensor and a scanner comprising a first lens array and a second lens array. The first and the second lens array are configured to emit the laser radiation received from the transmitter and to receive reflected laser radiation from the one or more objects at a steering angle relative to the axis of the LiDAR sensor. The LiDAR sensor further includes a receiver including an imager and a detector, wherein the imager is configured to direct the reflected laser radiation received from the scanner onto the detector. The scanner configured to adjust a relative position between the first and second lens array for adjusting the steering angle.

  • Publication number: 20240085532
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to light detection and ranging (LiDAR) systems, such as LiDAR sensors detecting objects with various reflectivities at various distances. An optical detection system includes a transmitter for emitting at least one beam of optical radiation, a receiver including an imaging processor and an anamorph prism system, and at least one scanner for guiding the at least one beam along a scan direction across a target scene and/or guiding a reflected optical radiation of the at least one beam from the target scene to the receiver. The anamorph prism system is configured to produce a processed beam by compressing the reflected optical radiation in a predefined direction by a predefined factor. The imaging processor includes a two-dimensional detector and is configured to generate an image based on the processed beam on the two-dimensional detector, the image having an aspect ratio that is based on the predefined factor.
