  • Patent number: 6688167
Abstract: Reconstituting the profile of a pavement consists of moving three contactless distance-measuring sensors over a pavement, the sensors being equidistant and in horizontal alignment in the direction of motion. The sensors deliver signals representative of their respective heights above the pavement. Measuring the distance traveled by the sensors, and measuring twice the height measured by the middle sensor from the sum of the heights of the two end sensors. The apparatus has a horizontal beam fitted with three sensors, a device for measuring the distance traveled, and a computer, the assembly being mounted on a load-carrying chassis or vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6375564
Abstract: A rotary combine is equipped with a rotor that has a separating portion having at least one ramp segment mounted to the rotor. The ramp segments provide an inclined face that directs the grain radially outward as the ramp segments move through the crop material. The ramp segments are intermixed with tines on the separator section of the rotor. The ramp segments provide a face that is trapezoidal in shape, having inwardly inclined front and rear edges so that the radially distal edge of the face is shorter than the proximal edge of the face. The trapezoidal shape of the ramp segments assists the ramp segments in shedding crop material and thereby preventing the crop material from becoming entangled thereon.

  • Patent number: 6193604
Abstract: A concave for an agricultural combine having an array of straight rectangular bars and straight round bars spaced from one another and extending axially of the rotor or cylinder to form a threshing surface and to form openings therebetween for grain to pass through. The round bars shed crop material to reduce plugging while the rectangular bars provide an aggressive threshing edge. Smaller diameter wires can be inserted between the round and rectangular bars to reduce the opening size for use with small grains.
