  • Patent number: 9333110
Abstract: A valve that is sealable to an associated container having an interior fluid storage region is adapted to permit and stop flow of fluid from the fluid storage region. The valve includes a valve body sealable to the container and a stem mounted to the valve body having a portion in flow communication with the fluid storage region. The stem is movable relative to the valve body between an open position to permit flow from the fluid storage region through the valve, and a closed position to stop flow through the valve. The stem has a grasping region spaced from the valve body. The grasping region is adapted rotate the stem to move the valve between the open and closed positions. The grasping region has first and second sides. One of the sides has a tactile indicator to provide indication of the position of the valve, the other of the side is devoid of the tactile indicator.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 16, 2014
Date of Patent: May 10, 2016
    Assignee: Hollister Incorporated

  • Patent number: 9256713
Abstract: A method, logic and system are provided for generating data representing all possible materials that may be present when monitoring a region or space for a radioisotope of interest. All possible materials with which a radioisotope material may interact are grouped or categorized into one of a plurality of material groups. Each material group is further subdivided into a plurality of subgroups based on atomic number of a material. First data is stored for each of the subgroups of each of the plurality of material groups, where the first data represents an interaction between a representative material for a corresponding subgroup and radiation at a plurality of energy levels. Second data is stored representing spectral characteristics of each radioisotope of interest at the plurality of energy levels.

Date of Patent: February 9, 2016
    Assignee: Exelis Inc.

  • Patent number: 5343155
Abstract: A system for detecting and locating faults on a power system includes the e of fault detection and transmitting devices on each pole of the system. The fault detection apparatus includes detecting coils mounted on the static line on either side of each pole, and a third detecting coil positioned so as to detect an orthogonal magnetic flux due to a phase-to-phase fault. A microprocessor on each pole analyzes the type of fault from the output of the three coils, and transmits the identification of the pole and pertinent fault data, when appropriate, to a repeater system. Thus, fault information from an entire power system can be fed through the repeater system into a central location.
