  • Patent number: 11482321
Abstract: Methods, computer systems, and computer-readable storage media are provided for creating a patient-centric referral order interface for helping patients manage referral orders via a patient portal. The referral orders are received from a medical organization and include patient-appropriate information but exclude additional information, such as healthcare provider's note providing a detailed reason for referral and a medical note outlining general information about the patient including at least a past medical history and a social history. An option to search for referral providers is provided within the interface and, in some embodiments, available appointment times are provided when it has been determined that no appointments have been scheduled for the referral order.

  • Publication number: 20220068489
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable media are provided for determining a premium for a proposed insurance coverage. In various embodiments, a plurality of context variables can be defined related to proposed coverage. Based on defined context variables, historical claim events are extracted from one or more sources of claims data. Extracted historical claim events may be representative of the proposed coverage. Historical claim events can be aggregated based on a time period to form aggregated claims data per time period. The aggregated data can then be used to determine a historical volatility time series based on differences between logarithms of the aggregated claims data per time period for a plurality of time periods. Additionally or alternately, the aggregated claims data per time period can be used to determine a fit of the aggregated data to one or more distributions. The fit can be evaluated, such as based on a fit parameter, to select a distribution.

  • Publication number: 20160063636
Abstract: Computerized systems and methods facilitate electronic medical insurance transactions by using a predictive model to predict errors prior to transmitting submissions to clearinghouses and/or insurance companies. A predictive model may be built using historical electronic medical insurance transaction data, which may include information from previous submissions and the responses (i.e., successful or error). The predictive model may be used to check submissions for electronic medical insurance transactions prior to transmitting the submissions to clearinghouses and/or insurance companies. As such, if an error response is predicted for a submission, an indication may be provided to a user entering the submission such that the user may make corrections and improve the likelihood of receiving a successful response for the electronic medical insurance transaction.

  • Publication number: 20130282397
Abstract: Methods, computer systems, and computer-readable storage media are provided for creating a provider-specific unified patient referral worklist that helps the provider manage incoming and outgoing referral orders. The unified patient referral worklist is generated by aggregating referral orders for patients from different medical organizations and determining which of the referral orders are associated with the provider. The unified patient referral worklist enables the provider to easily create new referral orders by presenting a plurality of referral order options.
