For example, if the energy-transmitting electrode is a first electrode configured in its operational state to transmit energy to bodily tissue adjacent the first electrode, but the first electrode is inadvertently contacting a second electrode, such contact may cause at least some energy transmitted by the first electrode to follow an unintended path away from its intended path to the adjacent tissue.
