  • Patent number: 11912130
Abstract: A hybrid dual clutch transmission includes a first sub-transmission and a first clutch allocated to the first sub-transmission, a second sub-transmission and a second clutch allocated to the second sub-transmission, a separating clutch provided to decouple the hybrid dual clutch transmission from an internal combustion engine. The first clutch has a first outer disc carrier, the second clutch has a second outer disc carrier, and the separating clutch has a further outer disc carrier. The first clutch, the second clutch, and the separating clutch are stacked radially one above the other and are arranged at least substantially axially overlapping. The transmission also includes an electric motor having a rotor, a stator, and a housing. The transmission further includes a drive element permanently non-rotationally connected to the first outer disc carrier of the first clutch to link the electric motor.

  • Patent number: 10552697
Abstract: The various embodiments described herein include methods, devices, and systems for identifying users. In one aspect, a method includes (1) receiving from a server a request to identify a user; (2) in response to the identification request, sending a request for encoded image data corresponding to one or more features of the first user, the request specifying a particular encoding for the image data; (3) receiving encoded image data corresponding to the one or more features of the first user; (4) obtaining stored image data for an authorized user corresponding to one or more features of the authorized user; (5) determining whether the first user is the authorized user based on a comparison of the received encoded image data and the stored image data; and (6) providing to the remote server an identification indicator based on the determination of whether the first user is the authorized user.

  • Publication number: 20170372304
Abstract: The various embodiments described herein include methods, devices, and systems for authenticating users. In one aspect, a method includes (1) obtaining a facial image for each of a plurality of verified participants; (2) obtaining a request to authenticate a user as a particular participant; (3) selecting a subset of facial features for use in authenticating the user; (4) generating verification data by encoding, from the facial image of the particular participant, the selected subset of facial features; (5) transmitting a request to a device of the user to generate encoded facial image data from the selected subset of facial features of the user; (6) receiving the encoded facial image data in response to the request; (7) determining whether the user is authenticated based on a comparison of the received encoded facial image data and the verification data; and (8) generating an authorization indicator in accordance with the determination.

  • Publication number: 20140052636
Abstract: Systems, methods and devices described herein enable the enhancement of the security of online financial transactions by assessing the authenticity of payment instruments, such as credit cards, using video processing analysis. For example, systems, methods and devices are operable to assess various characteristics of credit cards from video data provided by a user. Additionally and/or alternatively, one or more card characteristics captured during an online transaction may be compared against one or more of the same characteristics available in a card database indexed by card issuer, and which stores credit card characteristics for a number of cards provided by various credit card issuers. Additionally and/or alternatively, one or more card characteristics captured during an online transaction may be compared against one or more of the same characteristics captured during previous transactions to verify that the credit card currently offered matches the card used in previous transactions.

  • Publication number: 20130204786
Abstract: Systems, methods and devices described herein enable improved identity verification during online financial transactions. In particular, the features of various implementations are used to enable identity verification of account holders of credit cards, debit cards, and other payment instruments during online transactions. For example, in some implementations systems, methods and devices are operable to compare one or more encoded and/or encrypted images of facial features obtained upon activation of the payment instrument or security measures with one or more encoded and/or encrypted images of facial features obtained during a subsequent online transaction to verify that the individual offering the payment instrument as a form of payment is the true and authorized user of the payment instrument. Additionally and/or alternatively, a voice print record and/or location information may be combined with the use of the encoded and/or encrypted images to provide additional security.

  • Publication number: 20130070756
Abstract: The establishment of a VoIP connection between first and second telecommunication devices (109,110) comprises receiving user input data at an input terminal remote (100) from the telecommunications devices (109,110). The input data comprises a user identifier (102) and an identifier associated with one of the telecommunications devices to be called (110). The user input data is passed to a server (103) remote from the input terminal (100). A suitable connection pathway is determined at the server (103) and a communication channel (114,115,116) is established between the devices.
