  • Publication number: 20260157779
Abstract: A femoral neck trochanteric nail makes use of a dual, lag-screw/anti-rotation screw assembly to provide two, spaced fixation points locatable across a femoral neck in conjunction with a corresponding hip procedure. The anti-rotation screw may be advanced through a bore in the lag screw after the lag screw has been suitably fixed to a trochanteric nail received at an intramedullary location. The lag screw and anti-rotation screw construct may be oriented in different positions to have corresponding fixation points at different angular locations after fixation.

  • Patent number: 12493242
Abstract: Methods for making a B-stage thiol-cured urethane acrylate elastomeric film are provided. At least a urethane acrylate oligomer, a multifunctional thiol, and a base catalyst are combined to form a thiol terminated B-stage elastomer. The thiol terminated B-stage elastomer is exposed to an ultraviolet photoinitiator in the presence of an allyl ether terminated urethane to form the B-stage thiol-cured urethane acrylate elastomeric film. In some embodiments the B-stage thiol-cured urethane acrylate elastomeric film is used for a soft actuator application such as a fluidic elastomer actuator application or an electrostatic zipping actuator application.

  • Publication number: 20250281327
Abstract: A low cost, handheld device, according to the present invention, enables surgeons to perform cataract surgery manually through a small incision in order to minimize surgically induced astigmatism and reduce recovery time. The present invention fragments cataracts into a number of individual fragments that can be removed manually or via irrigation through a small incision. The device has been designed for use in emerging markets, is less-invasive than current techniques, meets the cost and time constraints of high volume eye care systems, fits within the existing training and clinical paradigms, is comfortable and allows for dexterity of movement in the hands of a surgeon, and is able to fragment all grades of cataract, including mature cataracts, meeting the needs of the entire patient population.

  • Publication number: 20230006426
Abstract: A Group-III nitride light emitting device that utilizes scattering of hot carriers generated by Auger recombination from an externally electrically-driven, relatively narrow band gap carrier generation region into a relatively wide band gap carrier recombination region, such that the relatively wide band gap carrier recombination region of the Group-III nitride light emitting device is internally electrically injected by the hot carriers generated in the externally electrically-injected relatively narrow band gap carrier generation region. The device is used for generation of incoherent light (a light-emitting diode) or coherent light (a laser diode).

  • Patent number: 10990376
Abstract: A processing device executing a wide area network (WAN) accessible service receive an encrypted digital image comprising a firmware update for an embedded system of a device having a specific device serial number (DSN). The processing device additionally receives device related information from a computing device, wherein the device related information comprises the DSN of the device comprising the embedded system and a version number of a current firmware component installed on the embedded system. The processing device determines, using the device related information, that the encrypted digital image for the device is available. The processing device then provides the encrypted digital image to the computing device for use by the computing device to update a firmware version of the embedded system.

  • Patent number: 10964295
Abstract: Improvements in stringed instrument playing tool is disclosed. The guitar pick stick has curved and flat surfaces that allows the tool to strike one or multiple strings using the curved surface or to strike multiple strings using the side of the curved surface to reach end strings or all of the strings on the instrument. The end can be pointed, fanned or have other shapes that further be used to pick or strum individual strings. Using the different areas can produce different sounds and in addition, striking the strings at different locations along the length of the strings can produce different tonal effects. A raised area can exist in the center or off-center of the guitar pick stick and allows the user to rub the raised area of the guitar pick stick across one or a variety of strings to provide a different acoustical sound.

  • Patent number: 10805279
Abstract: A hardware module for an embedded system comprises a network adapter, a memory and a processing device. The memory stores a shared key and a key identifier (ID) associated with the shared key. The processing device is to connect to a local area network (LAN) using the network adapter. The processing device is further to receive a first notification from a computing device that is also connected to the LAN and determine whether the computing device has access to a copy of the shared key based on the key identifier (ID). Responsive to determining that the computing device has access to the copy of the shared key, the processing device is to use the shared key to generate a session key for a session with the computing device. The processing device may then encrypt communications to the computing device using the session key.

  • Patent number: 10776174
Abstract: Resources hosted in different virtualization platforms may be managed across the different virtualization platform. Requests to perform types of actions with respect to a resource hosted in a type of virtualization platform may be received. Mapping information between types of actions and actions available via interfaces for different types of virtualization platforms may be evaluated to select actions for an interface of the type of virtualization platform that hosts the resource. The selected actions may then be performed via the interface to perform the action with regard to the resource.

  • Patent number: 10484512
Abstract: A gateway device includes a first interface to connect to an internet protocol (IP) network and a second interface having a first communication protocol to connect to one or more devices. The gateway device receives an instruction to initiate an attribute update for a device from a remote server via the first interface, the first instruction having a first format. The gateway device determines the attribute update and a virtual device identifier associated with the first device from the first instruction. The gateway device determines the first communication protocol and a first device based at least in part on the first virtual device identifier. The gateway device generates a command for the first device to perform the first attribute update, the command having a second format based at least in part on the first communication protocol, and sends the command to the first device via the second interface.
