The embodiments can include a control unit connected to a power source, a remote unit coupled to the control unit over the two-wire connection, the two-wire connection including a power/communication wire and a common wire, and a bridge-type amplifier configured to receive a power signal from the remote unit, the bridge-type amplifier configured to generate a square wave from the power signal. Also provided are embodiments for a method for providing component control over a two-wire connection.
