  • Publication number: 20230389797
Abstract: Methods and systems for planning and forming incisions in a cornea, lens capsule, and/or crystalline lens nucleus are disclosed. A method includes measuring spatial dispositions, relative to a laser surgery system, of at least portions of the corneal anterior and posterior surfaces. A spatial disposition of an incision of the cornea is generated based at least in part on the measured corneal anterior and posterior spatial dispositions and at least one corneal incision parameter. A composite image is displayed that includes an image representative of the measured corneal anterior and posterior surfaces and an image representing the corneal incision.

  • Patent number: 11779673
Abstract: The formation of sterilization tubes by plates with parts that match in whole or in part, that when assembled together form ducts, passages, channels, or tubes in a mass or block of heat resistant material. The size of the block may be reduced by forming the ducts as curved passages or tubes that will keep or increase the length of the tube while keeping the same or more exposure time while the gas is passing through. If the length of the curved duct is the same as a straight tube would have been, the overall size of the assembly may be reduced from what it otherwise would have been. If the curved length is made longer while the size of the assembly is kept the same, the exposure time is increased for a more effective sterilization.

  • Publication number: 20220328259
Abstract: A pressure-activated membrane switch and methods of use are provided. The pressure-activated membrane switch includes an electrically-conductive membrane, and a compliant conductive material having an electrically-conductive inner surface, wherein contact between the electrically-conductive membrane and the electrically-conductive inner surface of the compliant material is configured to cause an electrical circuit, of which the switch is a part, to close. The pressure-activated membrane switch further includes a plurality of spacers dispersed between the electrically-conductive membrane and the compliant conductive material. The plurality of spacers form one or more gaps between the electrically-conductive membrane and the compliant conductive material, and, with an application of pressure against the compliant conductive material, the compliant conductive material is configured to deform between the one or more gaps to contact the electrically-conductive membrane.

  • Patent number: 9633777
Abstract: Air core reactor includes a coil connected between first and second terminals. The coil is made of a succession of bundles of conductor (B1, B2, B3, . . . , BN) connected in series along an axis between the first terminal and the second terminal. Each bundle is made of one wire wound around the axis to form a multi-layer winding having a cross-section of N winding layers in a direction perpendicular to the axis, from a winding layer of rank 1 which is the closest to the axis to a winding layer of rank N which is the furthest from the axis. Each perpendicular winding layer includes several winding layers in the direction of the axis. The number of axial winding of the perpendicular winding layer of rank j (j=2, . . . , N) is equal or less than the number of axial winding layers of the perpendicular winding layer of rank j?1.

  • Patent number: 6037757
Abstract: When the phase control is effected on a supply voltage to a load having positive resistance characteristics with respect to temperatures before a current is allowed to pass, a voltage is supplied for a current passing time T1, and the voltage is supplied for a current passing time T2 longer than the current passing time T1, and the voltage is supplied for a current passing time T3 shorter than the current passing time T2. Also, a second control pattern is effected at least once, in which the current is passed while the current passing time is kept substantially constant, then the current passing time is extended before the attenuation rate of the peak value of the resulting load current saturates, and then the current is passed while the extended current passing time is kept substantially constant. Consequently, a voltage drop can be reduced effectively without causing large distortion of the current waveform or large conduction noise by omitting an expensive noise filter or special hardware.

  • Patent number: 5880578
Abstract: In a power control unit for controlling a power supply to a load connected to an AC power source by switching on half cycles, following three modes are carried out in the order of presented: a first control mode for continuously supplying a power which is composed of a plurality of half cycle switching waveforms of a first polarity to said load; a second control mode for continuously supplying a power which is composed of a plurality of half cycle switching waveforms of a second polarity to said load, said second polarity being different from said first polarity; and a third control mode for supplying a power of a half cycle of said first polarity and a power of a half cycle of said second polarity to said load in turn. This arrangement can attain an effect that both the harmonic noises and the flickers caused by a rush current are reduced.
