    Abstract: A network device stores overload handling criteria for a real-time credit management system of a wireless core network. The network device monitors for overload conditions based on the overload handling criteria and determines, based on the monitoring, that a potential overload condition exists. The network device receives a first credit control request for a user device, determines a standard resource quota that is responsive to the first credit control request, and allocates an increased resource quota, over the standard resource quota, for the first credit control request. The increased resource quota is based on the potential overload condition and the overload handling criteria. The increased resource quota may prevent the system from reaching a complete overload condition, may reduce overall message traffic, and may provide time for manual or autonomous recovery from the circumstance that caused the potential overload condition.

The quota may relate to access, by the subscriber device, to network resources provided by a network provider. The device may determine a subscriber value based on historical usage of network resources by the subscriber device, identify a group value based on historical usage of network resources by a group of subscriber devices with which the subscriber device is associated, and determine a particular quota to allocate to the subscriber device based on a baseline quota, the subscriber value, and a group value. The device may perform one or more actions to cause the particular quota to be allocated to the subscriber device based on determining the particular quota.

    Abstract: A cartridge unit for use with a urinal is disclosed that does not need water to work nor does it use a body of oily liquid sealant as an odor barrier. The odor trap cartridge unit used in this urinal has a spring locking mechanism that works as a valve. It is opened by liquid weight when the urinal is used and lets urine or any other liquid pass downwardly through it and prevents odors from flowing back up towards the room. The cartridge unit has a few disks, two main cylindrical devices, a spring, a fastener, an o-ring, and a coupling; these all operate to open and close a spring sealed trap. These are all placed within a unique three-sized shell that supports the entire cartridge and is fitted into a urinal opening. An umbrella shaped part completes the cartridge by protecting its components from violent fluid flow.

    Abstract: A digital entertainment solution includes a system for treating digital content, transmitting the digital content over a network to a viewing station where the digital content is presented to a viewer. A network-booting set-top box built from computer desktop technologies supports gaming, web browsing, e-mail, music listening, movie viewing and the like. A scan converter within the set-top box converts monitor resolution images to formats used by standard television sets. A browser within the set-top box substitutes fonts optimized for television viewing for standard fonts designed for computer monitors. Multiple set-top boxes are combined in a network and isolated from data-only devices to ensure service quality and to prevent unauthorized copying of digital content. The reach of the network is extended with wireless segments that use a variety of mechanisms to ensure security and service quality.
