Patent number: 10484772Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide an intentional leak from a rear volume of an ear cup to the atmosphere. The leak is created via a vent in the driver plate acoustic assembly. The vent reduces an acoustic load the ear cup cover creates on a rear cavity of an electroacoustic transducer contained within the driver plate acoustic assembly of a headset. Additionally, the vent is hidden on an assembled ear cup of a headset. Due to the placement of the vent, ear cup cover may have a smooth, seamless surface.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 2017Date of Patent: November 19, 2019Assignee: BOSE CORPORATIONInventors: Johnpaul P. Barrieau, Richard L. Pyatt, Jonathan D. Turner, Daniel P. Baker

Publication number: 20040190774Abstract: A method of classifying and accessing writing examples for writing composition. A language domain is first selected and representatives texts from that domain are analyzed to build a classification system for the domain. The text is first analyzed to determine root nouns and root verbs. The texts are further analyzed to determine relationships between nouns and the root verbs used for each noun-to-noun relationship. At this point, writing examples are then extracted from the texts and stored in a database. These writing examples are then classified by the earlier defined noun-to-noun relationships and root verbs that go along with those noun-to-noun relationships. Access to the writing examples is accomplished via a three-level interface. The first level (noun interface) maps nouns and pre-determined relationships between those nouns.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2003Publication date: September 30, 2004Inventor: Daniel P. Baker
