  • Patent number: 10594769
Abstract: An element in a fetched file (a file received from the web server in response to an HTTP request) can be mapped to the source code that generated it and vice versa. When code is compiled at the web server, calls can be executed that emit HTML that includes metadata that maps a snippet of code back to a particular source file and to a particular location in the source file. The HTML can include injected symbols that specify that the information from a particular start position for a particular character length in the HTML comes from a particular start position to a particular end position in the source file.

  • Patent number: 10447764
Abstract: A selection in a browser in an integrated development environment can be mapped back to the original document that was fetched from a web server by uniquely identifying elements in the original document. A DOM can be created from the original document where the DOM retains the unique identifiers associated with the elements. Block lists for the original document and the DOM can be created. A differencing algorithm can be run on the two block lists. A selection in a browser can be mapped to a location in the DOM block list and the location in the DOM block list can be mapped to the original document.

  • Patent number: 9753699
Abstract: A selection in a browser can be mapped back to a corresponding location range in one or more source files that generated the selection. A selection in a source file can be mapped to the corresponding location range in the browser's DOM. The selection in the browser can be mapped to a location range in a block list generated from the DOM. The location range in the DOM's block list can be mapped to a corresponding location range in a block list generated from the fetched file received from a web server. The location range in the fetched file's block list can be mapped to a particular location in the particular source file responsible for generating the selection in the browser. The selection in the browser and the source file can be displayed concurrently, the source file scrolled to the location range corresponding to the selection in the browser.

  • Patent number: 7716574
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing direct style sheet editing. The disclosed systems and methods may include selecting a first target rule for a next formatting operation. The selected first target rule may include a modified property and may be selected from a plurality of target rules. Furthermore, the disclosed systems and methods may include enabling property changes to occur in a most specific target rule in the plurality of target rules. The most specific target rule may contain the modified property. Moreover, the disclosed systems and methods may include providing a highlighting mechanism configured to allow a user to see which regions of a page are to be affected by the selected first target rule.

  • Patent number: 7447706
Abstract: An auto-completion list for a cascading style sheet (CSS) selector is generated based on user input and contextual information associated with a target document. The user input that triggers the generation of the auto-completion list is entered while creating a CSS selector. A CSS block in the target document is parsed to determine the contextual information associated with the target document corresponding to the user input. The contextual information and the user input are analyzed to determine appropriate elements to add to the CSS selector to complete CSS selector syntax. The appropriate elements are provided in the auto-completion list. The auto-completion list is displayed proximate the location where the user entered the input that triggered generation of the auto-completion list. The user may then select one of the elements displayed in the auto-completion list to add the selected element to the CSS selector syntax.

  • Patent number: 7337393
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing an editable visual formatting model. The disclosed systems and methods may include providing visual formatting properties. The visual formatting properties may comprise an outer-most polygon corresponding to a container of a selected element, a middle polygon corresponding to a margin of the selected element, and an inner-most polygon corresponding to a padding of the selected element. Furthermore, the disclosed systems and methods may include providing interactive handles configured to provide design view editing of the visual formatting properties.

  • Patent number: 7100109
Abstract: A keyword adjective is used to identify a URL or address within script included in a markup language document. A Web page, or hypertext markup language document that includes script cannot readily be parsed to identify the URL or address. The present invention includes a predefined identifier as a keyword adjective immediately preceding the string comprising the URL or address referenced within script conforming to the European Computer Manufacturers Association (ECMA) specification. Use of the keyword adjective in this manner facilitates identification of the URL or address. Once thus identified, the URL or address can be modified to fix a broken link. This approach can also be used more generally to identify other entities (other than an address) for an object referenced in the script.
