  • Patent number: 9163099
Abstract: This invention relates to polybutadiene modified polymer polyols which comprise one or more base polyols, at least one preformed stabilizer, one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers, and polybutadiene, in the presence of at least one free radical polymerization catalyst, and optionally, one or more chain transfer agents. The polybutadiene present in these polybutadiene modified polymer polyols may be carried into the polymer polyol through the preformed stabilizer, by a polybutadiene containing component that is added separately from the preformed stabilizer to the polymer polyol, or a combination thereof, with the total amount of polybutadiene ranging from 0.03 to 1.0% by weight of polybutadiene, based on 100% by weight of the polymer polyol. The present invention also relates to processes for preparing these polybutadiene modified polymer polyols, to foams prepared from these polybutadiene modified polymer polyols, and to processes for producing foams from these polybutadiene modified polymer polyols.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 8, 2013
Date of Patent: October 20, 2015
    Assignee: Bayer MaterialScience LLC
Inventors: Rick L. Adkins, Brian L. Neal, Daniel P. Krisher

  • Patent number: 6051622
Abstract: Molded polyurethane seating foams exhibiting low resonant frequencies and low ball rebound are produced by reacting an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer prepared from a polyol component comprising in major part one or more low intrinsic unsaturation substantially polyoxypropylene polyols and/or polymer polyols with a blowing/chain extending stream comprising water and optionally amines and alkanolamines.
