  • Publication number: 20230199573
Abstract: A device, system, and method for switching between a narrowband network and a broadband network is provided. A radio device determines conditions of a broadband network and receives, from a narrowband network site, access criteria indicating that a subset of a plurality of radio devices can register with the narrowband network site to communicate on a narrowband network. In response to the conditions meeting one or more given conditions and receiving the access criteria, when the radio device is communicating on the broadband network, the radio device may continue communicating on the broadband network; or when the radio device is communicating on the narrowband network, or attempting to register with the narrowband network site, the radio device switches, from communicating on the narrowband network, or attempting to register with the narrowband network site, to communicating on the broadband network.

  • Patent number: 11683676
Abstract: A converged communication device comprises a first processor operable using a first communications protocol and a second processor operable using a second communications protocol. The first processor is configured to detect a factory reset. The factory reset selectively enables one of a multi-tier factory reset comprising: a factory reset of both the first and second processor; a factory reset of the first processor only; and a factory reset of the second processor only. The configuration may be triggered by an external input to the converged communication device.

  • Patent number: 11457343
Abstract: A device, method and system for controlling provisioning of a mobile device is provided. An example devices determines, upon power-up, a status of a provisioning flag. The example device, in response to the provisioning flag comprising a first state associated with an out-of-box update mode, implements a first provisioning stage associated with a first communication system according to the out-of-box update mode. The example device, in response to the provisioning flag comprising a second state associated with a post-deployment update mode, implements the first provisioning stage associated with the first communication system according to the post-deployment update mode different from the out-of-box update mode. The example device implements a second provisioning stage for one or more of the second communication system and an operating system implemented at the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 11375365
Abstract: One example device facilitates activation of a radio device includes an electronic processor configured to select the radio device from a plurality of types of unactivated radio devices. Each radio device of the plurality of types of unactivated radio devices may be factory loaded with a global firmware and a global codeplug. The electronic computing device may be configured to determine at least one of a region-specific codeplug version and a region-specific regulatory restriction based on a desired region of operation, and associate the at least one of the region-specific codeplug version and the region-specific regulatory restriction with a unique identifier of the radio device that are configured to be transmitted to the radio device to activate the radio device for communication within the region of operation in response to receiving an indication that the radio device has been powered-up for a first time for operation by a customer.

  • Patent number: 11368887
Abstract: A method is provided that allows for prioritizing Push-To-Talk (PTT) service in a roamed network. PTT service is enabled for a mobile device at a first network. The mobile device roams to a second network that is of an older generation than the first network. It is determined that the mobile device has an active PTT subscription. PTT service is prioritized for the mobile device over circuit switched services on the second network.

Abstract: A system (100) and method (400) for radio configuring is provided. The method can include connecting (402) a non-volatile memory storage device (120) to a first radio (110) having a first radio configuration (112), saving (404) a list of radio configurable parameters (300) in the first radio to the non-volatile memory storage device, removing (406) the non-volatile memory storage device from the first radio, connecting (408) the non-volatile memory storage device to a second radio (130) having a second configuration (134), and copying (410) the list of radio configurable parameters from the non-volatile memory storage device to the second radio for replicating the first configuration on the second radio. The non-volatile memory storage device can be a Universal Serial Bus (USB) memory device, a portable Flash memory device, or a compact Flash device.
