The thermoforming apparatus includes a supporting element, defining a housing space for the support, and a closing element, which are movable between a home position, in which they are spaced apart, and a working position, in which they are coupled. The thermoforming apparatus includes means for creating a vacuum for causing the coating film to adhere to the inner surface, and a movable application element for applying a portion of the coating film to the outer surface at the lateral wall.

Abstract: An apparatus for applying a lid (2) to a support (3) containing a product. The apparatus (1) comprises a supporting element (10), having a contact portion (13), and a closing element (11), having a fixing portion (17), which are movable between a home position and a working position, in which the closing element (11) is partly inserted into the seat (12) having one or more lateral surfaces (16) defining the contact portion (13). When the two elements (10), (11) are in the working position, the fixing portion (17) is in the seat (12) and the two portions (17), (13) are coupled for clamping a part of the lid (2) and a part of at least one lateral wall (5). The fixing portion (17) is configured to fix the part of the lid (2) and the part of the lateral wall (5) which are clamped.

Abstract: A method for making a container having a thermoformable film which adheres to an outer skeleton, is provided. The method includes a heating step in which the thermoformable film is heated; a thermoforming step in which the thermoformable film is thermoformed on the inner surface; an inserting step in which a pressing element is inserted in the compartment, pressing the thermoformable film with it against the bottom wall to make the thermoformable film adhere to the bottom wall or to improve its adherence. The apparatus includes comprises a thermoforming device for thermoforming the thermoformable film on the inner surface of the outer skeleton and a pressing device which comprises having a supporting element and the pressing element.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for making an outer skeleton for a container are provided. The outer skeleton includes bottom wall and a lateral wall The lateral wall has at least one pair of superposed panels between which a heat-activatable glue is present. The method includes inserting a pressing element inside the outer skeleton, wherein the pressing element is configured to expand and press on the superposed panels and cause activation of the heat-activatable glue and adhesive coupling between the pair of panels thanks to the heat supplied by the pressing element or by a supporting element coupled to it. The apparatus includes the pressing element and the supporting element configured to operate in this way.

Abstract: A method for packaging a product, wherein a multi-layer material is heated to a temperature for thermoforming of the first main layer and is applied with a skin technique to a support which supports a product. The multi-layer material comprises a thermoformable polymeric material first main layer and a cellulose material-based second main layer. The first main layer has a thickness of between 10 ?m and 200 ?m and the second main layer has a grammage of between 30 and 250 g/m2. Particular embodiments of the multi-layer material are also provided.
