Patent number: 6189640Abstract: The invention is a sliding shield between the cab end and engine end of a bi-directional or articulated tractor. A sliding member is pivotally attached to the flared shield support on the cab end. The sliding member has a slot on which permits it to be slideably attached to the flared end shield. There are a pair of opposing walls perpendicularly affixed to the shield member. One wall has an aperture with a removal door attached. The sliding member covers a pair of universal joints and a connecting transfer shaft. Access to a grease fitting on the transfer shaft may be gained through the door to allow lubrication.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1999Date of Patent: February 20, 2001Assignee: New Holland North America, Inc.Inventors: David A. Young, Daniel Pakosh, Henry Latchman

Patent number: 5052512Abstract: A reversible actuation linkage associated with a control lever determining the speed and direction of travel of a hydrostatically driven tractor in which the control is mounted with an operator's station pivotally supported to permit orientation of the operator in a selected one of opposing directions is disclosed wherein the linkage includes a cable actuator pivotally connected to a fixed linkage mechanism. The actuator cable includes a clevis mounted for pivotable movement about a vertical pivot axis coinciding with the axis about which the operator's station is rotatably movable. As a result, the actuator cable reversibly effects operation of the hydraulic system to effect movement of the tractor in the direction corresponding to the direction of movement of the control lever irrespective of the rotated position selected for the operator's station.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 1990Date of Patent: October 1, 1991Assignee: Ford New Holland, Inc.Inventors: Daniel Pakosh, Kevin Walker

Patent number: 5050448Abstract: A wet flywheel housing is disclosed wherein a central web member separates the flywheel housing into first and second cavities in which a flywheel and a driven gear set are respectively rotatable. The web member supports a seal engageable with a hubbed gear forming part of the driven gear set and connected with the flywheel to permit the transfer of rotational power therebetween. A detachable lid member closes the second cavity in which the driven gear set is rotated to permit the introduction of an oil bath into the second cavity for lubrication of the driven gear set without permitting the migration of oil to the first cavity for engagement with the rotating flywheel.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 1989Date of Patent: September 24, 1991Assignee: Ford New Holland, Inc.Inventors: I. Bruce Kardal, Kevin A. Walker, Daniel Pakosh, Richard W. Koning

Patent number: 4907402Abstract: An unloading chute for a combine which may be swiveled so as to discharge crop outside the combine to a loading vehicle which may be operated to receive crop from the unloading chute on either side of the combine.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1988Date of Patent: March 13, 1990Assignee: Ford New Holland, Inc.Inventor: Daniel Pakosh

Patent number: 4572215Abstract: A series of cutting knives for a threshing assembly which comprises a rotor within a cage. The assembly is mounted substantially transversely to the longitudinal axis of the combine and crop is fed into the central feed area. The knives sever the crop at the centrally located feed area and the crop is thereby split. After reaching the top of the cage, crop is conveyed to each respective end of the assembly as it travels around the inside of the cage by helical guide vanes mounted on the upper portion of the cage periphery.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1982Date of Patent: February 25, 1986Assignee: Versatile CorporationInventor: Daniel Pakosh

Patent number: 4492237Abstract: A rotary combine and a method for threshing and separating crop are disclosed which utilize separate rotary threshing and separating assemblies. Both assemblies are in the form of cylinders and the separating assembly is located transversely and rearwardly of the threshing assembly. Crop is introduced along a plane substantially tangential to the lower entrance portion of the threshing assembly, conveyed by guide vanes to an end portion of the threshing assembly, passed from the threshing assembly axially into the separating assembly and conveyed by a series of further guide vanes to the rearward portion of the separating assembly where the crop residue exits from the combine.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1980Date of Patent: January 8, 1985Assignee: Versatile Cornat CorporationInventor: Daniel Pakosh

Patent number: 4117849Abstract: Swathed grain is picked up by a conventional pick-up and fed into the side of one end of a transversly situated rotary impeller assembly which moves the crop in a spiral motion against threshing grates on the lower portion and spiral fins on the upper portion. The crop reaches the other end of the impeller assembly and is transferred to one end of a second transversly situated rotary impeller assembly whereupon the action is repeated until the crop reaches the other end of the second assembly whereupon the crop with the majority of grain removed, is discharged at right angles to the axis of the impeller assembly and into a final beater assembly. The threshed and separated grain falls from the impeller assemblies to a grain pan and is cleaned by two sieve assemblies which extend the full width of the impeller assemblies. Unthreshed grain is returned to a re-threshing unit mounted at one end of the beater.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1976Date of Patent: October 3, 1978Assignee: Versatile Manufacturing Ltd.Inventor: Daniel Pakosh

Patent number: 4059171Abstract: The present device includes a one-piece seat, steering and instrument console pivotally mounted within the cab and capable of being rotated so that the driver faces either forwardly or rearwardly. The seat is adjustable relative to the steering portion of the console and the entire console is adjustable fore and aft within the cab to suit the operator's convenience and choice.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1975Date of Patent: November 22, 1977Inventor: Daniel Pakosh
