  • Publication number: 20200151745
Abstract: A system and method is provided that provides an early indication of consensus of opinion among a number of users regarding an event or observation indicated by a user. These opinions can be interesting to an information consumer, for determining the outcome of the consensus relating to the event or observation, or for performing surveillance or survey of a particular issue or subject. Such recognition of early events or observations can be useful in different areas, such as healthcare, finance, etc., where initial observations, if provided early, allow resulting decisions to be made much earlier. The opinion can, for instance, be used as an early indicator of problem with a product, company, etc. that would permit an information consumer to perform an action at a much earlier point than if he/she relied on traditional sources of information. Thus, such opinion information can be invaluable as a tool for monitoring events.

  • Patent number: 10083420
Abstract: According to one aspect, an approach is provided that assists in presenting the right information within the ecosystem. The approach involves associating information sources (ads, sponsored information, research requests, debate notices, seminars, education opportunities, peer generated information, etc) with a feedback mechanism. In one embodiment, the feedback mechanism includes a scoring feature, where individual participants within the ecosystem rate the relevancy and/or importance of the information provided. In one example, a user is notified that a potentially relevant information source is available. The notification is typically displayed unobtrusively within a browser or interface window that the user is navigating. In one implementation, the user must perform some affirmative action to reach information associated with the information opportunity. In one example, requiring an affirmative action serves as a shield from pop-ups, banner-ads, and other distracting form of advertising.

  • Publication number: 20150205918
Abstract: A data processing system can receive, from a referring computing device, an indication to obtain electronic medical record data displayed by the referring computing device. The data processing system can obtain, via the computer network, the electronic medical record data, and can generate a referral request document based on the electronic medical record data. The data processing system can provide the referral request document from the referral network engine to the referring computing device via the computer network for display by the referring computing device, and can prompt for referral completion data using the referral request document. The data processing system can receive, via the computer network, an indication of a complete referral based on the referral completion data, and can obtain, by the data processing system, the complete referral.

  • Publication number: 20140188509
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing information via a communications network are provided. A data processing system can obtain referral input data including at least one of subject condition data and remittance data, and can identify, from a database, service provider data associated with a service provider and based on the referral input data. At least one of the referral input data and the service provider data can be provided for display by a referring computing device associated with the data processing system, and a referral request can be sent via the communications network to a recipient computing device associated with the service provider. The referral request can include at least a portion of the referral input data. Responsive to the referral request, availability data of the service provider can be obtained based on at least one of the subject condition data and the remittance data.

  • Publication number: 20090106826
Abstract: According to one aspect of the invention, authorization events trigger authentication requests for a user during the course of a computer session. In one example an authorization event trigger occurs as a user navigates through a web interface. In one embodiment, a user authenticates him or herself to enter a secure site. During the course of navigation through the secure site, authentication events are triggered. Authorization events occur when, for example, the user wishes to perform some action associated with the secure site or provide comment on information obtained from the secure site or obtain information from the secure site. The act of submitting or taking some action comprises a triggering event. In response to a triggered authorization request, a system related to the secure site (or the same system) generates authentication information, in one example, as a one-time password (OTP) that is transmitted to the user.
