  • Patent number: 11523545
Abstract: High-efficiency cooling is performed in a data center in response to a cooling and/or humidity demand using a system having multiple cooling loops. The system includes a plurality of integrated cooling systems each comprising one or more specifically sized chillers and a liquid loop to address the cooling demand. A free cooling heat exchanger is coupled to the first liquid loop for use when a wet-bulb temperature surrounding the data center is at or below a free cooling set point of the first chilled liquid loop. The system isolates humidity control components to a second chilled liquid loop, and enables greater control of the first chilled liquid loop of the data center to meet specific IT loads.

  • Patent number: 11039556
Abstract: Approaches presented herein enable cooling a data center with a cooling system having a relatively high coolant temperature. This cooling system is controlled by a building management system and includes piping through which coolant flows, an air cooling unit in thermal contact with the coolant, and a chiller to cool the coolant to a temperature between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius as instructed by the building management system. The building management system uses a chiller controller to vary the chilling of coolant within a range of 18-22 degrees Celsius, thereby controlling the air temperature within the data center to within a required temperature range. Because the building management system maintains the coolant temperature to 18-22 degrees Celsius, the cooling system can be simplified by excluding typical cooling system components such as variable flow control valves and their controllers. This simplification decreases the need for maintenance and reduces operating cost.

  • Publication number: 20180235109
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide high-efficiency cooling in a data center in response to a cooling and/or humidity demand using a system having multiple cooling loops to allow for a higher chilled liquid temperature of a first chilled liquid loop, while maintaining data center room temperature and humidity control. Specifically, the system includes a plurality of integrated cooling systems each comprising one or more specifically sized chillers and a liquid loop to address the cooling demand.

  • Publication number: 20080078798
Abstract: A positioning mechanism for a wooden article engaging device having a frame, a rocker arm, first and second air cushions and an eccentric member is provided. The rocker arm has a first end pivotally connected to the frame and a second end connected to the device. The first and second air cushions are fixed between the frame and the rocker arm. Each of the first and second air cushions has an air pressure therein which is controllable to vertically pivot the rocker arm in order to position the wooden article engaging device in one of a clearance position and a working position. The eccentric member eccentrically pivots about a generally horizontal axis, the at least one eccentric member is engages the rocker arm when in the working position. In this way, the eccentric pivoting of the eccentric member acts to pivot the rocker arm to further adjust the device.
