  • Publication number: 20140297331
Abstract: The systems and methods of the present disclosure acquire patient information and execute a time-out checklist for verifying information for a procedure to be performed by a healthcare provider. The patient information is acquired by entering patient information in fields of a checklist screen. The acquired patient information is displayed to the patient in a read-only patient data verification screen that includes a verification button that the patient can select to verify whether the displayed patient information is correct. After the patient information is verified by the patient, the patient information is displayed in the checklist screen having verification buttons corresponding to the patient data and items to be verified for the procedure. The verification buttons are enabled after an image of the site marking is captured. The checklist application also acquires audio and/or video during execution of the time-out checklist.

  • Publication number: 20120090115
Abstract: An apparatus comprises a clamp head comprising a handle member, a spring handle clamp being removably joined to the handle member, and a first coupler being removably joined to the handle member. The spring handle clamp comprises a coil base being configured to slide over the handle member and two clamp handles extending outwardly from the coil base. Each of the clamp handles terminates in a clamp head. The clamp heads are interlocked and configured for holding a cleaning item in a normally closed position with the clamp heads moved to an open position by squeezing the two clamp handles together. A utility handle comprises a second coupler being removably joined to the first coupler, and a contoured grip, in which the apparatus may be assembled by a user for holding the cleaning item to clean their posterior and subsequently disassembled for cleaning and transportation.

  • Patent number: 7561329
Abstract: A microscope illumination system includes a light source having at least four LED light sources, each LED source emitting light within a different portion of the visible spectrum. Each of the at least four LED light sources may be independently controllable. The resultant light emitted from the at least four LED sources substantially approximates that from an incandescent light source. In one embodiment, the system includes at least one red LED, at least one green LED, at least one blue LED, and at least one yellow LED. Other color combinations are also possible. The illumination may be positioned to place a sample holder such as a slide within the optical path of the light source. The system further includes an optical magnification system for magnifying an image of the biological sample. This may include a camera or traditional magnification optics.

  • Publication number: 20060182209
Abstract: A receiver operating at high frequencies with low measurement error. Multiple frequency measurements are made using digital signal processing. Each measurement is based on sampled data acquired with a low resolution but high sample rate analog to digital converter. The converters are clocked at sampling frequencies that are not rationally related, causing the frequency measurement error of each circuit to differ at every frequency. Based on the multiple frequency measurements, the receiver selects an output frequency.
