  • Patent number: 11226639
Abstract: An automatic takeoff flight control system controls an aircraft to automatically follow a predetermined set of control parameters upon taking off from the ground using both longitudinal and lateral control laws. The control system provides takeoff speed reduction to thereby reduce the takeoff distance (TOD) and, as a consequence, increase the takeoff weight (TOW). The control system sets the horizontal stabilizer (HSTAB) in a non-trimmed condition—named “mistrim”; and provides beta for optimum climb at takeoff, through lateral-directional surfaces commands.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 23, 2016
Date of Patent: January 18, 2022
    Assignee: Yaborã Indústria Aeronáutica S.A.
Inventors: Daniel Paulo De Tarso Ferreira, Thomas Kestenbach, Luiz Gustavo Medeiros Carneiro, Patrice London Guedes, Jose Roberto Ferreira De Camargo Clark Reis
  • Publication number: 20220009616
Abstract: An electromechanical rudder system control using electromagnetic actuators provides dual redundancy to comply with safety demands. Diversity of possible interconnection distribution allows the manufacturer to choose the proper configuration to satisfy aircraft safety design, hardware savings and overall system quality improvements.

  • Publication number: 20210405658
Abstract: This technology will allow takeoffs with a single initial horizontal stabilizer or trim tab position while maintaining satisfactory rotation times thus allowing simpler aircraft operation and avoid the scenario in which the crew does not correctly trim the aircraft (mistrim takeoff scenario) which could reduce safety margins.

  • Patent number: 9153139
Abstract: A flight control system can achieve a relatively steep descent (using drag devices such as flight spoilers) at relatively low speeds while retaining good airplane handling qualities from the pilot's point of view. The system and method optimize the drag device's positioning used to perform steep approach to improve performance.
