  • Publication number: 20250150845
Abstract: Aspects presented herein may improve beam management and neighbor cell(s) monitoring related characteristics on a UE side, which may include improved power consumption, configuration volume reduction, and more robust and efficient beam tracking procedures for UEs receiving and monitoring SSBs transmitted by a base stations. In one aspect, a UE is configured to apply an SSB IDs classification based on a systematic mapping configuration that maps a set of SSB IDs to a plurality of SSB beams of a network entity, each SSB beam of the plurality of SSB beams being associated with one SSB ID of the set of SSB IDs and covering a range of azimuth angles and a range of elevation angles. Based on the mapping configuration and the semi-deterministic SSB beams sweeping pattern, the UE may classify SSB IDs into different categories and prioritize and deprioritize measurements for one or more SSB IDs.

  • Patent number: 12294479
Abstract: A UE of a wireless communication network first receives a modulation and coding scheme index IMCS for demodulating a physical layer data channel of the network. The UE then demodulates the physical layer data channel with a non-square quadrature amplitude modulation (NS-QAM) having a modulation order and code rate corresponding to a spectral efficiency (SPEFF) substantially equal to a SPEFF of a square QAM (S-QAM) SPEFF indicted by the IMCS, where the NS-QAM has an effective channel code rate no larger than the code rate for which the UE may skip decoding a transport block in an initial received transmission.

  • Publication number: 20250141718
Abstract: A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) and related apparatus are provided. In the method, the UE obtains channel information for a sidelink channel between the UE and a receiving device and performs a pre-equalization process on a signal to be transmitted to the receiving device based on the channel information to obtain a pre-equalized signal. The UE then transmits the pre-equalized signal to the receiving device through the sidelink channel.

  • Publication number: 20250097079
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices that support channel estimation reference signals for pre-equalization are described. In some examples, channel state information (CSI) for a link between a user equipment (UE) and another wireless device may be acquired by the UE based on samples of a downlink reference signal transmitted from the UE to the wireless device. Specifically, the wireless device (e.g., an extended reality (XR) device) may obtain samples of the downlink reference signal (e.g., a channel estimation reference signal) and report or indicate (e.g., transmit) the samples to the UE via an uplink transmission. For example, the reference signals may be sampled at the wireless device side, and CSI may be obtained using the samples signaled back to the UE by the wireless device. The UE may perform channel estimation based on the received samples, which may enable transmit pre-equalization of signals sent to the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 12244443
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. Some aspects more specifically relate to discrete Fourier transform spread orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DFT-S-OFDM) waveform pre-equalization for MIMO communications. A receiver device, such as an extended reality (XR) device, may be configured to offload a portion of data processing to a companion device, such as a user equipment (UE). In some aspects, the UE may generate a DFT-S-OFDM waveform and may apply a pre-equalization to the DFT-S-OFDM waveform. Applying the pre-equalization to the DFT-S-OFDM waveform may include applying a minimum mean square error (MMSE) pre-equalization to the DFT-S-OFDM waveform. The receiver device may receive the pre-equalized DFT-S-OFDM waveform from the UE and may process the pre-equalized DFT-S-OFDM waveform.
