  • Publication number: 20230056235
Abstract: The present invention proposes the use of the shearography technique in a system for the non-destructive inspection of composite material repairs applied to submerged metallic pipelines. The shearography system of the invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one vision and lighting module (VLM) (1), at least one fixation module (FM) (2), at least one excitation module (TEM) (3), at least one command and power module (CPM) (4), and a computer (5). The proposed system can be fixed to the repaired pipe by means of divers or ROVs, and the inspection control can be carried out entirely from the platform or surface support vessel.

  • Publication number: 20230012001
Abstract: The present invention addresses to a multidirectional dynamic phase shifting interferometry (DPSI) shearography and interferometry sensor. The present invention uses a configuration with three fixed prisms, or a single fixed three-facet optical prism constructed so as to achieve the same effect as three prisms and thus simultaneously obtain three images with phase shifting. The present invention also encompasses a method of inspection and measurement of vibration modes using said sensor.

  • Publication number: 20210255145
Abstract: This invention relates to inspection techniques for use on composite joints and repairs. In this context, this invention proposes a system for inspecting a repair or joint consisting of a composite material applied to a structure, comprising at least one exciter or element that is excitable (2, 10) to a thermal and/or vibrational stimulus, the at least one exciter or excitable element (2, 10) being integrated into the repair (1) or joint.
