  • Patent number: 12655783
Abstract: An exhaust gas aftertreatment system in the exhaust gas system of an ammonia combustion engine, wherein the exhaust gas system can be traversed by an exhaust gas flow of the ammonia combustion engine, including a passive SCR catalyst, an oxidation catalyst with which ammonia contained in the exhaust gas flow can be oxidized, and a regulated SCR catalyst. The oxidation catalyst is arranged in the exhaust gas system downstream of the passive SCR catalyst and the regulated SCR catalyst is arranged in the exhaust gas system downstream of the oxidation catalyst. The exhaust gas aftertreatment system further comprises at least one N2O decomposition catalyst arranged in the exhaust gas system upstream of the passive SCR catalyst or downstream of the passive SCR catalyst, the oxidation catalyst, and/or the regulated SCR catalyst.

  • Publication number: 20240200512
Abstract: An ammonia combustion engine, a mobile or stationary system having an ammonia combustion engine, and a method comprise operating an ammonia combustion engine with a combustion chamber and an injection device which is in fluidic connection with the combustion chamber. The ammonia can be metered into the combustion chamber. Ammonia is metered into the combustion chamber such that an exhaust gas stream generated by the ammonia combustion engine has a predetermined molar ratio of ammonia to nitrogen oxides independently of the current operating point of the ammonia combustion engine.

  • Publication number: 20190112956
Abstract: A device for generating a reducing agent gas from a solid or liquid reducing agent, where the reducing agent gas is preferably suited for nitrogen oxide reduction in an exhaust gas of a combustion engine, the device including a reactor with an inner volume and an inlet for a reducing agent solution and an outlet for the reducing agent gas. The device further including a heating system disposed at least partially in the inner volume and a heating control unit for controlling the heating system, wherein the inner volume includes first and second heating zones each including at least one heating element and controlled independently of each other by the heating control unit.
