  • Publication number: 20200292823
Abstract: A method of pervasive memory augmentation includes receiving a request to augment a memory via a heads-up display having a field of view and generating one or more processor-readable memory cues that are connected to the memory. A cued content is generated based on the one or more processor-readable memory cues. The cued content is presented in a display space in the field of view of the heads-up display on a spaced repetition schedule.

  • Publication number: 20200202129
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for providing assistance in human-to-human interactions are described. When it is determined that a user of a wearable heads-up display is interacting with another human, interaction assistance information can be presented to the user, such as biographic information relating to the other human, indication of emotional states of the user and/or other human, indication of when the interaction is one-sided, candidate conversation topics and candidate conversation questions. Additionally, interaction assistance functions or applications can also be provided which enable recording and storing of interactions, generation of summaries or lists based on the interaction, transcription of the interaction, note taking, event input, and notification management.

  • Publication number: 20200137665
Abstract: The present systems, devices, and methods generally relate to controlling wearable displays during vehicle operation, and particularly to detecting when a user is operating a vehicle and restricting operation of a wearable display to prevent the user from being distracted. At least one processor of a wearable display system receives user context data from at least one user context sensor, and determines whether the user is operating a vehicle based on the user context data. If the user is operating a vehicle, presentation of at least one user interface is restricted. Unrestricted access can be restored by inputting an unlock input to override the restriction, or by analysis of additional user context data at a later time.

  • Publication number: 20200041803
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for notification management are described. At least one processor determines whether a user is interacting with another human based on user context data from at least one user context sensor, such as a microphone, a camera, an IMU, an eye tracking system, or proximity sensors, and modifies presentation of notification content if the user is interacting with another human. Modification of presentation of notification content can include repositioning or resizing displayed notification content; modifying intensity, frequency, or pattern of vibratory notification presentation; changing visual notification presentation to vibratory presentation; changing vibratory notification presentation to visual presentation; and delaying presentation of notification content, for example.

  • Publication number: 20170357934
Abstract: The present invention provides vehicle dealerships with an UWB enabled smart tag that is installed on the vehicle's windshield. The smart tag broadcasts its location via UWB on a predetermined schedule or as a response to movement. The smart tags location is determined by UWB anchors which use MLAT to localize the tag. The present invention allows dealership personnel to more accurately mange their inventory. The present invention allows banks and lending institutions to more accurately ascertain physical location of vehicles that are floor planed. The present invention results in lower total cost of operations for the dealership. The present invention takes the practices of a timely accurate physical inventory reconciliation puts them into real-time perpetuity of the dealership's operations. The present invention reduces time to market by automating the workflow of vehicles at a dealership.

  • Patent number: 9062487
Abstract: A child safety device for a casement window includes a handle-driven gear reduction assembly having a sensor gear driven at a reduced speed relative to the handle, a sensor arm driven by the sensor gear of the gear reduction assembly and a slider movable between a stop position where rotation of the handle is prevented and a retracted position where rotation is allowed. A spring biases the slider towards the stop position. The slider is held in the retracted position by a catch and is released by the sensor arm to prevent further opening of the window when the sensor gear reaches a predetermined location. The safety device resets when the window is closed and can be overridden to allow full opening of the window by an adult. In the preferred design, the child safety device is a cover that can replace the cover of an existing casement window operator.

  • Patent number: 8005818
Abstract: A computer readable storage medium comprises executable instructions to receive a query referencing a set of members of an OLAP hierarchy. The query is parsed into a syntax tree. Changes to the OLAP hierarchy metadata are received. The syntax tree is refined in response to the changes. The query is evaluated to return results that are independent of the changes to the OLAP hierarchy metadata.

  • Publication number: 20080089730
Abstract: A compact system adapted for card imaging, card laminating, or other card processing, comprises a card processor positioned on a horizontal card feed path and configured to process one or both faces of a rectangular card such as a plastic credit or debit card. A card feeder is arranged to feed cards one at a time onto the horizontal feed path upstream of the card processor, the feeder comprising a compartment for holding a stack of vertical cards each supported on a long edge and a card feed mechanism configured to successively draw a card from an end of the stack and translate it off the stack. A card re-director is configured to receive the card and to redirect it to an attitude in which it is parallel with the horizontal card feed path and positioned to be fed to the card processor along the horizontal feed path. The compartment is located above the horizontal card feed path, and the card feeder feeds cards substantially vertically downward into the card re-director.

  • Publication number: 20070086823
Abstract: A ribbon cartridge for a printer. The ribbon cartridge includes a frame that supports supply and take-up spools and that has one or more locating features to facilitate its insertion and positioning in a frame of a printer. For example, the ribbon cartridge frame may include a pair of detents defined approximately midway between the two spools to facilitate balanced insertion. The detents are slots with rounded ends that are configured to receive similarly shaped reference protrusions of the printer frame. The cartridge frame may also define a pocket for receiving an identification tag associated with the ribbon cartridge that ensures compatibility with the printer and passage of other information to the printer. In other embodiments, the ribbon cartridge may include a cleaning roller.

  • Publication number: 20060251461
Abstract: A printer configured to print on substrates that undesirably tend to collect debris before being printed, comprises a print station including a printhead, and a printer body configured to receive a replaceable cartridge that holds a printer consumable (such as a ribbon) and a substrate cleaning structure. The printer body is constructed and arranged so that when a cartridge is received in the body, the cleaning structure is operable to at least assist in removing debris from a substrate. The cleaning structure may comprise a tacky or sticky belt, web or roller. The cleaning structure may be configured to present a sticky surface to a primary cleaning member that engages and cleans the substrates. Alternatively, the cleaning structure may be configured to directly engage and clean the substrates. Preferably, the useful lives of the cleaning structure and the printer consumable are commensurate.

  • Publication number: 20060144903
Abstract: An method for manufacturing an assembly of first and second components, such as an end fitting and a driveshaft tube for use in a vehicular drive train system. Initially, a yoke is provided including a body having a recess provided therein and a pair of yoke arms. The recess defines an inner body portion and an outer body portion in the yoke. A portion of a driveshaft tube inserted within the recess between the inner body portion and the outer body portion. If desired, one or more retaining structures or an adhesive material may be provided on either or both of the driveshaft tube or the yoke. Then, a magnetic pulse forming process is performed to deform the outer body portion of the body of the yoke into engagement with the portion of the driveshaft tube to provide a combined driveshaft tube and yoke assembly.
