  • Patent number: 4439238
Abstract: The invention relates to copper phthalocyanine pigments, characterized in that they have a specific surface according to BET of between 15 to 65 m.sup.2 /g and a .beta. form content of between 3 and 85%, and in that they contain up to 10% of a fatty amine or a mixture of fatty amines of the formula: ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 represents a non-aromatic, C.sub.1 to C.sub.22 aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbon chain, R.sub.2 represents hydrogen or a non-aromatic, C.sub.1 to C.sub.22 aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbon chain, the sum of the carbon atoms of chains R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 is between 6 and 50 , R.sub.3 represents hydrogen or a C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 aliphatic radical, and p varies from 0 to 20.The invention also relates to a process for preparing these pigments and processes for their use for the coloration of inks, paints, plastics materials, textiles and leathers and coating of various substrates.

  • Patent number: 4239685
Abstract: A process for the preparation of phthalocyanine pigments from a phthalocyanine press paste obtained by hydrolysis of a sulphuric solution of phthalocyanine, in which a small quantity of a water-insoluble crystallizing solvent, in the presence or absence of a non-crystallizing solvent, is incorporated with stirring in said press paste, and then the solvent or solvents is or are eliminated and the paste is dried, and the pigments thus obtained are collected.

    Assignee: Produits Chimiques Ugine Kuhlmann
    Inventor: Daniel Pigasse
  • Patent number: 4141904
Abstract: Improved process for the preparation of copper phthalocyanine pigment stable to crystallization by grinding a crude copperphthalocyanine and adding a compound stabilizing the pigment against crystallization and derived from phthalocyanine, wherein the improvement comprises dry grinding the crude phthalocyanine in the absence of any mineral substrate and of any crystallizing solvent thereby obtaining a ground phthalocyanine of non-pigmentary or feebly pigmentary character, and treating the said ground phthalocycanine with a crystallizing solvent in the presence of the stabilizing compound at a temperature from ordinary room temperature to the boiling temperature of the solvent, the concentration of the stabilizing compound being from 1% to 25% of the weight of the phthalocyanine; pigmentary compositions in the form of powder or pigmented paste obtained by such a process and compositions containing a stable copper phthalocyanine pigment prepared in accordance with such a process.
