Abstract: A hairstyling tool may include: a body; a first prong extending from the body in a first direction and being pivotally attached to the body portion via a hinge; a second prong extending from the body portion in the first direction; a double torsion spring comprising first and second torsion springs connected by a bridge and positioned to apply pressure on a proximal end of the first prong; and an inclined plane movable longitudinally, which when moved to a forward position, moves relative to the bridge to position the bridge in a detent, and spring tension is at a first amount; and when the inclined plane moves rearward, it moves relative to the bridge to position the bridge in a groove and spring tension is at a second amount; wherein the second amount of spring tension is greater than the first amount of spring tension.
