Abstract: A removable cargo carrier for van-type vehicles, in which the vehicle includes a body, a rear bumper, a rear door assembly and a groove between the perimeter of the door assembly and the van body, includes a cargo box having a number of walls defining an enclosure with a door for providing access to the enclosure. The cargo box is attached to a mounting frame which includes a pair of spaced apart elongated vertical members having rubber caps at the bottom of the members for abutting engagement with the bumper of the van. A lateral flexible strap is connected between the vertical members and the cargo box with a bracket attached at each of its free ends for connection to the door assembly at portions of the groove between the vehicle body and the door assembly at the opposite sides of the door assembly.
