  • Publication number: 20250111776
Abstract: A device, system, and method for controlling vehicle-related functionality is provided. A system comprises: a vehicle comprising: a vehicle display; a mobile device comprising: a mobile display, the vehicle and the mobile device communicatively coupled to each other; a transceiver; and a controller. The controller is configured to: determine, via the transceiver, whether the vehicle is a first vehicle or a subsequent vehicle to arrive at an incident scene. When the vehicle is the first vehicle to arrive at the incident scene, the controller selectively enables: a first application for presentation at the vehicle display; and a second application for presentation at the mobile display. When the vehicle is the subsequent vehicle to arrive at the incident scene, the controller selectively enables: a third application, different from the first application, for presentation at the vehicle display; and a fourth application for presentation at the mobile display.

  • Patent number: 12168418
Abstract: A device, system, and method for an electronic response to a potential carjacking is provided. A device receives: a location and vehicle ignition status of a vehicle; and sensor data generated by one or more sensors that are onboard the vehicle, the sensor data different from the location and the vehicle ignition status. The device determines whether the location of the vehicle is associated with a carjacking type of location, and whether a combination of the vehicle ignition status and the sensor data meet a carjacking threshold condition. When both the location of the vehicle is associated with the carjacking type of location and the carjacking threshold condition is met, the device: outputs an alert at the vehicle indicative of, or associated with, the potential carjacking; and/or causes, a notification to be transmitted to a communication device associated with a public safety agency or a monitoring service.

  • Patent number: 12136051
Abstract: A communication system and method are provided to conduct waterway searches for the detection and identification of objects and the generation of law enforcement agency alerts and pre-approved external agency notifications. A water body surveillance apparatus, under control of a law enforcement agency, surveys above and below a water surface to detect objects and collect data pertaining to the detected objects. The communication system identifies the detected object and generates an alert to the law enforcement agency identifying the object. A notification is sent to pre-approved external agencies based on object type. The pre-approved external agencies may include other law enforcement agencies different from the law enforcement agency and non-law enforcement agencies, such as pre-approved insurance agencies, and vehicle repossession companies, environmental agencies.

  • Publication number: 20220392008
Abstract: A device, system and method for positioning monitors in schools is provided. One or more memories store: adversarial relationship data identifying adversarial relationships between students at a school; and schedule data indicative of spatiotemporal locations of the students having the adversarial relationships. A device accesses the adversarial relationship data and the schedule data. The device determines, based on the schedule data, spatiotemporal crosspaths at the school of the students having the adversarial relationships. The device determines a ranking of the spatiotemporal crosspaths. The device assigns one or more monitors to one or more of the spatiotemporal crosspaths. The device transmits notifications to communication devices associated with the one or more monitors, the notifications to instruct the one or more monitors to move to a respective assigned spatiotemporal crosspath.

  • Patent number: 11080955
Abstract: A device, system and method for controlling a passage barrier mechanism is provided. While failing to detect, via a biometric imaging system in communication with a passage barrier mechanism, unauthorized users in a first area of interest of the biometric imaging system, a device: maintains the passage barrier mechanism in a multiple entry state in which multiple users at a time authenticate, via the biometric imaging system, and enter therethrough. Responsive to detecting, via the biometric imaging system, an unauthorized user in the first area of interest, the device: transitions the passage barrier mechanism from the multiple entry state to a single entry state in which only a single user at a time authenticates, via the biometric imaging system, and enters therethrough; and changes a biometric authentication range of the biometric imaging system from the first area of interest to a smaller second area of interest.

  • Patent number: 10796725
Abstract: A device, system and method for determining incident objects in secondary video is provided. An electronic device: plays, at a display screen, a primary video from a primary video source located at a primary location; determines an incident type associated with the primary video; determines incident object(s) associated with the incident type; detects a particular incident object in a secondary video from a secondary video source located at a secondary location within a threshold distance of the primary location, the particular incident object appearing in the secondary video within a threshold time period from a current playback time of the primary video; determines a relative direction of a location of the particular incident object from the primary location; and controls the display screen to render a particular visual indicator of the particular incident object over or adjacent the primary video at a position indicative of the relative direction.

  • Patent number: 10477343
Abstract: A process for maintaining geofence definitions associated with criminal organizations includes maintaining, at an electronic computing device, a stored first geofence definition defining a geographic area associated with a first criminal organization. The computing device receives audio and/or video streams from devices located outside of and/or inside of a boundary of the first geofence definition, and detects, via the one or more audio and/or video streams, a pattern-of-conduct of one or more individuals associated with the first criminal organization or associated with another criminal organization known to have an adversarial relationship with the first criminal organization.

  • Patent number: 10455353
Abstract: A process for electronically detecting a criminal organization out-of-boundary condition includes first maintaining a stored first geofence definition defining a geographic area associated with a first criminal organization. One or more audio and/or video streams or RF identifiers from recording devices located outside of the first geofence definition are received. An out-of-boundary condition is then detected in the streams or identifiers in which an individual determined to be associated with the first criminal organization is detected outside of the first geofence definition. Responsive to detecting the out-of-boundary condition, causing an electronic notification of the out-of-boundary condition to be one of output and transmitted to another computing device notifying the another computing device of the out-of-boundary condition.

  • Patent number: 10425776
Abstract: Method and device for responding to an audio inquiry. The electronic computing device monitors audio communications transmitted between communication devices that are members of a talk group on a talk group channel. The electronic computing device detects an audio inquiry from a first communication device and generates an audio content response to be provided in response to the audio inquiry. The electronic computing device determines based on one or both of the audio inquiry and the audio content response, and as a function of the context information, that the audio content response is to be individually provided to the first communication device. The electronic computing device then establishes a private call with the first communication device and provides the audio content response to the first communication device via the private call.
